Bottom line the cut was opened up via dubious means and Lewis exploited it to stop a fight he was behind in on every judges card. Vitali had plenty fight in him so it was a hollow victory for Lewis and he knew it. Also Lewis might well have been 38, but he gave Vitali no training camp so that evened that one up, and the fact no rematch was offered says it all for me. If Vitali could fight that same Lewis again aged 39 he'd make the match tomorrow. For me Vitali is BETTER now than he was in that fight. The guy was still suffering from his injury against Byrd that didnt heal up proper until his lay off. Lewis, great fighter but he somewhat b****ed out, just like Bowe the ultimate bi tch.

Plus the crowd were all booing Vitali! Hide won the event for sure!

After all, he was leading on all three judges scorecards at the time of the stoppage (by a series of dubious punches to the face that dubiously KHTFO).

Don't see any compare with Herbie Hide, a clean knockout. And I don't think the cut originated from a clean punch, probably came from the inside of the right glove in a clinch, although it was certainly worsened by punches again mostly from clinches. I note you don't comment on the lack of prep for Vitali and the fact Lewis bi tched out of a rematch. He basically quit the game after a close and controversial fight that left an unsatisfactory end to his career, one that fans still talk about because it didn't give a definitive ending, not for me anyway.

Why should I comment on Vitali's lack of prep? Lennox had an equally short prep time. It wasn't an advantage or disadvantage to either fighter. And why on earth should I blame Lennox for retiring? He was getting old, obviously didn't have the passion for the sport he once had, and had already beaten all there was to beat. The only thing I blame Lennox for is leaving Vitali hanging around for a rematch that never came. That he retired when he retired isn't shameful at all. It is, in fact, eminently commendable.Last edited by nomadman; 01-04-2011, 08:02 PM.

Vitali and Lennox were both training for other fights. They were fighting on the same card.
And Vitali had a different injury against Byrd than the one he retired for 4 years from

Let's cut the nonsense guys... lennox hit him with the kitchen sink & still couldn't take him out. Vitali's just too strong to taste canvas & this irks you. Vitali could've taken Lewis out in the 5th rd ALA RAHMAN when Lennox was on the ropes begging to get ktfo..just that VK was just as tired as Lennox because of the bombs they were trading.. so like i said stop the nonsense...bottom line is VK won 2/3 of the fight by all accounts & judges that are paid to score the fight as it happened. Compubox states he landed 2/3 of all the punches that connected. That's all I NEED to know about who got the better of whom.. Lennox DID NOT STOP VK...THE DOCTOR DID..... ONCE YOU ACCEPT THAT THIS IS WHAT REALLY HAPPENED...YOU'LL JUST REMAIN IN DENIAL... SO WHAT IF HE CAUSED AN ACCIDENTAL CUT. VK WAS READY & WILLING TO GO ON... 4 RDS TO 2 RDS IS THE OFFICIAL SCORE OF THE BOUT. IF LENNOX WANTED TO WIN LEGITIMATELY & WITHOUT ASTERISKS... HE SHOULD'VE THOUGHT ABOUT WINNING 4 RDS TO 2 & THERE'D BE NO ROOM FOR ANYONE TO DEBATE THE LEGITIMACY OF HIS W.... THOSE ARE THE FACTS! DEAL.....

If you notice between Lewis and V.klitschko when they were hurt, Lewis wasn't able to clinch, Klitschko did. Yet it's still obvious that the one that was on "***** street" was V.Klitschko.
lol I'm sorry but did you know that Vitali was knocked out cold in a kickboxing match against Pele? You shouldn't have brought this up. I almost feel bad bringing it up.
As for the kickboxing pedigree.. he was a 2 time amateur champion kickboxer & a 4 time professional kickboxing champion.. anyone can be hurt if a kick lands just right & this was way before Vitali became a pro boxer. Pele was just lucky that Vk DIDN'T land his fist on his face first.. Nice try though!

vITALI proceeded to KTFO hide in rd 2.. so that's a 10-8 rd right there.. PLEASE STOP with the rubbish. What don't you get about all 43 fights leading on the scorecards when they concluded. Sanders is the ONLY one he's ever trailed & that was only after the first rd & a half..the ensuing 6 or 7 rds was a brutal beatdown.
