Also people lets not forget that Zuffa is indeed a private company and the real numbers are not released publicly. These are merely estimates based on countdown show viewers, etcetc.Comment

Exactly, and if Boxing was the same Pac vs Margarito would read 1.4 M and upwards.Comment

As for your little support ********** war efforts poster, you probably, no scratch that, you DONT have any idea of what a ********** stands for because if you did if you had any common sense you wouldnt be down with your ******** homies. But if you enjoy paying all those taxes to support lazy ass americans that dont work, then so be it, I enjoy it too.Comment

What this shows is that when boxing gets its act together and puts on a good fight, more people want to see it than ufc.Comment

The source for those numbers is Dave Meltzer. Meltzer has his own sources in the PPV industry that he has cultivated over the past twenty-five years. He gets the numbers from them.
An example, back in 2006 Meltzer reported that the second Shamrock/Ortiz fight, which took place that July, did 775,000 buys on PPV. There was the same doubts about the number. At the time it was the UFC's biggest number in history.
Anyway, a few years later the UFC and Ken Shamrock were involved in a court case against one another. The number that the PPV did came out in court, and the number was indeed 775,000.
Also, they are North American PPV numbers.Last edited by nfc90210; 01-01-2011, 06:38 AM.Comment
