How long does boxing have to generate a new star. Manny will fight for 1-2 more years and I'm not sure if PBF will ever fight again. Who's going to step up?

Boxing is not completely dependent on PPV so this is kind of an inaccurate way to say that MMA is owning Boxing. How about the 20 something free shows HBO has and ESPN Friday Night Fights and Showtime Boxing. What about Marquez vs. Diaz II GBP announced it had 215,000 Buys and it is not on the list.

Time will tell.
It won't go away, the thing is UFC is popular today because it's "cool". It's been for 5 years. It was just like boxing a few years back. Where people brag about being boxers to get laid, now they do the samething with the UFC. "Bro I trane UFC!@@@@" Sooner or later it'll decline. Besides, Velasquez isn't a huge draw to the Latinos. If he was, he would of done more than 1,050,000 considering how Brock hasn't gone that low since his first title fight. Besides, Brock is white. Which is why he WAS a huge star. GSP is WHITE, he's a huge star. Is Anderson Silva a big draw? Nope. Rich Franklin and Chuck Liddell are WHITE. They are bigger stars then the world's best P4P fighter. Once UFC gets dominated by other ethic champions the white demography will go away.

Take Rampage vs. Rashad is the only fight that went above 700k buys who weren't white. It was a grudge match. The rest of the cards are stacked from top to bottom and they do in the 400k/500k/600k demography. I'm not trying to be racist that's just how it is. Velasquez will be lucky if he does 500k in his next fight against Junior Dos Santos and these 2 guys are the best heavyweights in the world. This is a dream match for hardcore fans, yet the casual fans could careless.

I'm not trying to be racist, it's just how I've seen it for many years.

After seeing these numbers, i'm starting to think that the best thing for boxing is if they don't face each other, maybe the numbers will stay high if they don't.

Versus shows a MMA event almost every week, i'm pretty sure that avarages around 50K to 100K every show. I wouldn't be surprised if they have 10x more viewers after every event was added up between boxing and MMA.

What about Saul Alvarez having over 65 million viewers in his fight. Wladimir Klitschko and Tomasz Adamek drawing some of the biggest tv ratings in Europe. There is no way Versus draws more ratings between HBO Boxing, Showtime Boxing, and ESPN Friday Night Fights. I am very skeptical of these UFC numbers as well why would you still be a Private company if your doing these kinds of number the best way for a company to expand and have strong growth is too become a publicly traded company with more investors. I feel like the UFC is trying to hide something.

The only way a new star to emerge is if it beats and dominate the top draws in the sport, which would be Manny and Floyd.. That's how the torch was pass from Oscar to Floyd and Pac.. They dominated Oscar in the big stage and got the whole world to notice them.. But I dont see anyone who can do this right now...

Either that or a young upcoming American heavyweight with the notoriety and charisma of a young Tyson emerges...

It's a shame someone like David Haye or Vitali doesn;t **** up K1 and MMA guys.

Looking at their stand up, they are so open, so slow and wild.

1 or 2 years training and they can possibly deal with take downs and a kick defence.

Anyone knows that 4 ounce glvoes with a fast and strong HW means KO.

Don't any MMA ******s even talk Toney, Toney was never a KO guy, plus he was fatter than a roast pig.
