Manny has made it clear that he already has an exit plan (well deserved) in place. I agree that floyd is looking more and more like he will not fight again. Even if he does, considering he only fights once a year, his last fighting year would be 2012 if that. That means both manny has 3 fights in him tops, while floyd has 2 max.
Golden boy was grooming Ortiz as the next golden boy and his career has stalled. Daniel Jacobs got KTFO and is rebuilding himself back up, but i didnt see the guy as STAR material. Angulos future is uncertain due to his visa issue. Kirkland had the hype going for him as well as his fan pleasing style. Due to his legal problems, time/ a few more fights will tell were he is at. Khan has the following in the UK, but i dont see him becoming a hatton style star here in the U.S. Bute has rockstar like status in canada, but he is 30 and needs to get over here and make a name for himself now. He can do it in a division like 168. Out of bradley and alexander, i think alexander has the bigger chance of becoming the star. Tune in next month and find out. Berto needs to step it up, that is all i will say about him.
Last but not least we have the "canelo" alvarez. The ratings this kid pulls in Mexico are insane. Last i read, he will be getting his first title shot in march if i am not mistaken. People are already calling him the next chavez, which i personally dont agree with (too soon to tell.) He has the skills, the following, and the charisma to make it here in the states, plus i heard he is moving to L.A. and taking english classes.
As far as up and comers go, The only guy i really see with star like potential is Benavidez JR. (9-0 9KO) If you havent seen the kid fight, go see him. I know people say he needs tp stop fighting bums, but he has the skills at only 18 and has plenty of time to grow. He is well spoken, has the charisma, and has the story (storied amateur career) to go with it. Frankie Gomez (7-0 6KO) had some hype to him, but i think Benavidez takes a fight between the two and also has more POTENTIAL star power.
I can keep naming fighters all day, so this is just a small pool of fighters at the momment who I PERSONALLY think have the star power. Other people will have their own opinions.
As far as your question goes, fighters as gifted as pacquiao and mayweather come around every once in a while, so it will take some time/years.Comment

I agree, it is changing though. 10 years ago the top guys in MMA were making 30-40k per fight now they're making 1-2 million a fight. If it continues to grow who knows what the payouts will be in the future.Comment

I dont think most of us see it that way, at least i dont. It is a way to dissmiss the "boxing is dead" talk. I dont see it as a way to say one is better than the other though. Two different beasts.Boxing is not completely dependent on PPV so this is kind of an inaccurate way to say that MMA is owning Boxing. How about the 20 something free shows HBO has and ESPN Friday Night Fights and Showtime Boxing. What about Marquez vs. Diaz II GBP announced it had 215,000 Buys and it is not on the list.Comment

I do agree that the biggest draws in mma are white, and lesnar was the biggest draw. Someone pointed this out to dana white in an interview and he pointed out that yes, lesnar losing the title could shift interest from one particular group to another. He also pointed out that there is a big chance there will be a surge in latino interest. It will be interesting. Only cains defenses of the title will say.It won't go away, the thing is UFC is popular today because it's "cool". It's been for 5 years. It was just like boxing a few years back. Where people brag about being boxers to get laid, now they do the samething with the UFC. "Bro I trane UFC!@@@@" Sooner or later it'll decline. Besides, Velasquez isn't a huge draw to the Latinos. If he was, he would of done more than 1,050,000 considering how Brock hasn't gone that low since his first title fight. Besides, Brock is white. Which is why he WAS a huge star. GSP is WHITE, he's a huge star. Is Anderson Silva a big draw? Nope. Rich Franklin and Chuck Liddell are WHITE. They are bigger stars then the world's best P4P fighter. Once UFC gets dominated by other ethic champions the white demography will go away.
Take Rampage vs. Rashad is the only fight that went above 700k buys who weren't white. It was a grudge match. The rest of the cards are stacked from top to bottom and they do in the 400k/500k/600k demography. I'm not trying to be racist that's just how it is. Velasquez will be lucky if he does 500k in his next fight against Junior Dos Santos and these 2 guys are the best heavyweights in the world. This is a dream match for hardcore fans, yet the casual fans could careless.
I'm not trying to be racist, it's just how I've seen it for many years.
I remember seeing a segment on tv on the nba and how they are aggresively trying to draw more latino fans to the sport for whatever reason. Must be the $$$$$.Comment
