Oscar De La Hoya was at 154 and he challenged the 135 pound Pacquaio. They met at 147, stop trying 2 make excuses for the ass kicking you got. Pacquiao only drained Cotto and Margarito. And the only reason you saying Pacquiao lost both fights is because you promote JM Marquez.

My thoughts on the situation:
In my opinion the fight can only be competitive at 140 or 135.
Marquez has no business going up to 147, 144, 143. IF this fight gets made 140+ he is in Pacs territory and guess what, you will witness the destruction of Marquez.
It is a testament to his will that Marquez wants the third fight with Pac SO BAD and that he is willing to move anywhere on the scale to get the fight, but the fact is Pac has been fighting comfortably at 140+ for some time now and obviously is at an advantage if its north of 140.
That being said, Marquez is also late in age, he is an aging fighter that might of missed the train a year or two ago. Of course his victory over Kats was impressive, but the fact is Kats was a limited fighter, and you are only as good as your last fight with the facts and circumstances.

i dont know what the big deal is marquez looked very effective against katsidis and he weighed in at 145 on fight night. if they make the fight at 147 he can come in at 145 he doesn't have to bulk up all the way up to the limit fighters come in under the weight limit all the time. so i don't know what the all the pissing and moaning is all about on golden boy's part.

Oscar wanted to pick a big name, smaller fighter to get an "easy" win like he did in his early career. It would had been unreasonable (at the time) to make Manny go up three weight classes to fight Oscar at 154 because Manny was coming from 135. Oscar was trying to go down in weight anyways after Forbes. The Oscar/ Manny fight would had been much more controversial at 154, then at 147.
Oscar, quit lying, you fake.

The thing that kills me is all these guys are calling out Pac, but yet they want to do it on THEIR terms.
"I want to fight Pac, but at what's comfortable to me!"
Why didn't JMM complain and try to force FMJ to fight at 140? He didn't even complain about having to come up that high in weight, he was just happy to be sharing the same ring with Floyd and making the big bucks. But, when it comes to Manny everything should be "fair"? And, could you imagine JMM telling FMJ "Fight me at 135-140 where I'm comfortable. (or no fight)" Or, JMM insisting on a 50-50 pay split with Mayweather (or no fight)? Floyd would've just said "O.K., buh-bye." So why should it be so different against Pac?
If you want to fight the top dog to make the big bucks then you should be the one having to make consessions - not the other way around. To me, it's a little like the smallest guy on the block calling out the neighborhood giant for a game of one on one - and then telling him that he has to play in his backyard with both hands tied behind his back... AND lose 20lbs. to make it "fair". YOU called HIM out, if you want it that bad you need to do what it takes to get him to face off with you.
Personally, I want to see a third fight between these guys. I don't know why JMM should be all that concerned about weight, no one is forcing him to weigh in at the full limit. And he already knows that Pac is not going to weigh more then 147-148 on fight night (in fact since JMM isn't bigger like Pacs last few opponents, he will probably weigh even less then that to increase his speed). JMM weighs close to that on fight night as well. Pac just faced a guy weighing 17lbs. more than him on fight night and people are still complaining about a 150lb. weigh in limit (supposively draining Marg), but yet they're worried about a 2 or 3lbs. weight difference for Pac on fight night? (JMM came in at 145 against Kats, Pac came in at 147 against Margarito - on fight night) I'm sure many of JMM previous opponents weighed a lot more than 2 or 3lbs. more than him on fight night. AGAIN... no one is forcing JMM to put every single pound on! But, even putting that aside, JMM wants to move up in weight ANYWAY! Let's see JMM get his own strength and conditioning coach and move up in weight, putting on muscle instead of fat - like Pac did. Now is the time to do it rather then complaining how you want a fight so badly, but are unwilling to make any conssessions to prove your own greatness.
JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR.... I AM NEITHER A JMM HATER OR A "*******".I have great respect for JMM, which is why I want to see Pac face him rather than Mosely. Just do what ya gotta do to get this fight Juan, and let's get it on...
BTW - Don't worry about Oscar... by next week he will simply say he was "Misquoted" or that someone had a gun to his head, forcing him to constantly say outlandishly ****** ****.
