Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Pacquiao Forces Boxers To Lose on The Scale

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya will continue to push for a Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez trilogy. De La Hoya and Marquez would like the third fight to take place around 142-144-pounds. Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, and the trainer Freddie Roach, are only interested in making the Marquez trilogy at the full welterweight limit of 147-pounds.

    I really don't think it's Manny.

I think it's Roach. Manny would probably fight a gorilla if Bob Arum told him to and paid him to. It's Freddy that's scared and that fear has put a massive handicap on Manny's entire career imo.

The fact it took this long for people to see it is what's really sad though, these so called "boxing experts" aren't really experts and their opinions are in fact garbage. lol They just want to see any and everyone catch a vicious beat down, they're not really interested in competitive fights.

Oscar is such a lying, fake. He went down to 150 to fight a tune up in Steve Forbes because he was originally, going to rematch Mayweather at 147 until Mayweather decided to retire. So, Oscar was going to fight at 147 after Forbes anyways. He would have made Cotto go up to 154 if he had beaten Margarito, but he lost.

Oscar wanted to pick a big name, smaller fighter to get an "easy" win like he did in his early career. It would had been unreasonable (at the time) to make Manny go up three weight classes to fight Oscar at 154 because Manny was coming from 135. Oscar was trying to go down in weight anyways after Forbes. The Oscar/ Manny fight would had been much more controversial at 154, then at 147.

        Oscar, quit lying, you fake.

Floyd is a douchebag who agrees to a catchweight but failed to make weight.

Since according to Oscar Marquez won the 2 fights, then there's no need for a 3rd fight.

DLH seems to forget that he made Manny move up 2 weight classes to fight him. Not Manny's fault that Oscar f'd that up. Doesn't make sense for Marquez to ask for weight concessions. Manny's already fought him at superfeather at a point where Manny was the one killing himself to make the weight and coming in drained. Would like to see a 3rd fight but either at 147 or 135 for the lineal lightweight title. Don't really see the purpose at 140 or at some catchweight.
