Brazil has really been producing some exceptional athletes over the years in larger numbers than the US and lets also not forget they dominate the "worlds" game over and over. The Sudan has also been dominating the one sport that is the very essence of human athleticism! Long Distance running!

I know most of you think really popular sports are what defines great athletes but not me. Long Distance running is the one sport that Humans do better than most other species of animal and that to me is the true essence of the Athlete.

Those of you guys that are regulars know me. You know I'm not one of the Soviet-loving guys looking to push some white-supremacy race war **** (Not talking about you, Freedom Fighter). I'm here to discuss a completely different issue; I want to discuss why Hopkins, Nate, and the Mayweathers are being haters and not giving Manny his props.

It's because Hopkins, the Mayweathers, ect all come from a time period where black Americans dominated boxing. At least in the public's eyes they did. From the 60s to the 2000s there were always numerous famous black American fighters captivating the world's attention.

            There aren't anymore.

I think this backlash from Hopkins, Nate, and the Mayweathers towards Manny is kind of the same thing as the backlash black fighters got once they took the spotlight away from the ***ish and Italian-American fighters all those years ago.

When you hear Floyd Sr. talk about Pacquiao, he's always mentioning Pac's accomplishments "have never been done," "no ones ever done that," ect. So? I think what he's really getting at is that Pacquiao is doing something no black fighter has ever done, and Floyd Sr comes from an era where black Americans were the best-of-the-best. There are tons of guys from that era like Holyfield, Tyson, and Roy Jones that give Pac credit were it's due, but the likes of Floyd Sr, Roger, and Bernard are in denial.

Floyd isn't fighting for whatever reason. Who else is there? Who else has there been? When Pac was at 140 and below, Nate was a bum with 5 losses before exposing Diaz. Bradley and Alexander had yet to make names for themselves.

So who are these fictional black American fighters Pacquiao is ducking?? Pac went up in weight again and fought Clottey, who, as they pointed out on Boxing Truth, is a lot slicker than Shane Mosley.

What are your thoughts? Again, I don't need any replies about how I'm a racist or something. Those of you guys that post here know that I'm regularly accused of being racist against white fighters (see my sign).

While I do think there are some really good black fighters still around, I think it's pretty clear that Americans in general are either not boxing as well or not getting in boxing like they used to be. It's just a shift. Look how many Eastern Europeans are world champions these days as opposed to the 80s.

In 20 years China could hold the majority of the world titles. Change happens. It doesn't have to be popular, but it happens nonetheless.

(I know, the thread title was kind of a race-bait thing, but it's the best I could think of)
When MOST people speak of Manny not fighting a "slick african american" they're referring to the notion that he's one of the best of ALL TIME.

Roy Jones beat Bernard Hopkins. Ray Leonard beat Wilfredo Benitiz. Ali beat Patterson. Even Tito Trinidad beat an old, but still servicable Sweetpea.

Pacquiao has never beaten a GREAT NEGRO CHAMPION! LOL!

I'm not blaming Pacquiao because there were no great negroes near his weight class back in his lighter days.

However, he has to fight MAYWEATHER if he wants to be considered as a true all time great.

Golf? I wouldn't call golf a sport exactly! Tremendous skill game but a sport? And when i say America I'm referring to the United States.

try to go & play golf rather then judging. you need GREAT eye site & DEEP concentration to be able to play it. & playing it at a PROFFESIONAL level is meant for the "pros"

on a professional level it can very well be called a sport.....

i stand my ground that brazil DOESN'T produce "better" athletes then america nore is it more well rounded.

brazil is MARVELOUS in MMA & soccer.

if you're gonna compare the u.s. to another country you're gonna have to come with it because america is truly a bloody ****er.

thats why BAFOONS love to compare whole continents to the u.s. because the u.s. is a super power when it comes to athletes & has been for years now.

its kinda crazy for A single country to have such rich history in athletes.....

According to Herb Boyd's book, "Pound For Pound," (autobiography of boxer Sugar Ray Robinson). Boyd is frank, if not detailed, about Robinson's long career of wife beating. "He abused his second wife, Edna Mae, so brutally that their son, Ray II, believes it was the cause of her five miscarriages."

So pointing out the fact that Robinson physically absued his wife to such an extent that he may have caused 5 miscarrages and thinking poorly of him as a person because of that make me a piece of ****?

It's too bad that you haven't caught a stray bullet yet while selling your crack rocks, it would better the Black community that you reside in.

                      P.S. the other Suger

                      Ray Leonard

Juanita Leonard testified in divorce court in 1991 that boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, her former husband, often punched her with his fists, threw her around, and harassed her “physically and mentally in front of the children.” He threatened to kill himself with a gun, she said. He threw lamps and broke mirrors. Ray Leonard denied none of this. At a press conference, he admitted having struck his wife with his fists. Yet he justified the behavior by saying that he and Juanita “fought, argued,” and “grabbed each other,” but that “that was in our house, between us.”
