Look at the history of boxing and add up the totals and tell me what group of men has dominated the sport?

Look at all the other major sports in this country tell me what group of men dominates those sports?

Now Let them shut down the NBA, NFL, MLB and Track and Field. Let their only be boxing, what group of men would once again dominate 70% - 90% of all the weight divisions in boxing?

This race talk is all about envy of Black Masculinity period. I guess you gotta tell yourself and your chick something. Cause I see her looking!!!!!!

Now my Asian brothers finally feel like they can flex and claim their own Masculinity in the world and that's really cool. Lets face it since Bruce Lee died there has been a big void there. It's really hard to mean mug with a badminton racket or a ping pong paddle in your hand. I'm glad Pacroid helps them out in that arena, he is a true warrior.

All Hopkins is saying is about Pacroid is "give some brothers a chance to tap that ass". You wanna be ATG then quit fighting losers!! and punching bags and Take a damn test or two.

AA don't need to dominate boxing. Its not about race it's about options. When you have other options you take them. If you can run fast and jump high there are easier ways to make money in this country.

Boxing is like baseball to most AA, they really don't watch or care about it that much. There are not many boxing gyms and baseball fields in the urban areas anymore. The NBA and the NFL is where the Athletic AA men gravitate.

Hell more money can be made these days "beat boxing" than prize fighting. Also add in the fact most AA men these days grow up in single family household raised by their mothers.

It is very hard to convince a AA mother to let you take up boxing. You're probably going to get a football or a basketball instead of boxing gloves.

Not to mention they let us go to school now and school is pretty awesome. No need to spend all that money on your brain to just let it get slammed against your skull for 12 rounds.

The way the economy is going your probably going to see my white brothers make a comeback in professional boxing. So my Hispanic and Black brothers better watch out if this economy does not pick up soon, white dudes are going to start showing back up at the gym.
Listen boy... I in no ****ing way envy a black mans Masculinity. You sound like a fruit cake.

Trust me. Besides a few blonde sluts, white women are not interested in you either. You should hear what they say, but you never will.

So pointing out the fact that Robinson physically absued his wife to such an extent that he may have caused 5 miscarrages and thinking poorly of him as a person because of that make me a piece of ****?

It's too bad that you haven't caught a stray bullet yet while selling your crack rocks, it would better the Black community that you reside in.

      P.S. the other Suger

      Ray Leonard

Juanita Leonard testified in divorce court in 1991 that boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, her former husband, often punched her with his fists, threw her around, and harassed her “physically and mentally in front of the children.” He threatened to kill himself with a gun, she said. He threw lamps and broke mirrors. Ray Leonard denied none of this. At a press conference, he admitted having struck his wife with his fists. Yet he justified the behavior by saying that he and Juanita “fought, argued,” and “grabbed each other,” but that “that was in our house, between us.”
I'm going to assume you know absolutely nothing about Jake Lamotta. They made a movie based on his life called the raging bull. He made Robinson look like a saint. Leonard as well. Of course with Lamotta being Caucasian that would be OK with you. Yet you stated no movie should be made about Robinson due to his transgressions. You don't like Robinson or Leonard because they are black. It's about as transparent as your mommas cheap vodka.

I don't blame you for your insecurities. I would feel the same way if I grew up poor and had a mother that breast fed me with vodka from sagging pale *******. Or was that your sister? I know your folks are into that sort of thing.

they've never seemed that way on a global scale... they're not at all over represented in the most global sport of all: soccer

very one-dimensional sports like sprinting (blacks) and weight-lifting (caucasians) may highlight racial differences in bone/muscle structure but boxing is too multifacetted
        Good post.

if it weren't for the white men you'd still be living in a hut somewhere in africa or even worst exterminated by other africans like the tutsi & hutu.
you're lucky to be here, now shut up and back to the field you go.

Those of you guys that are regulars know me. You know I'm not one of the Soviet-loving guys looking to push some white-supremacy race war **** (Not talking about you, Freedom Fighter). I'm here to discuss a completely different issue; I want to discuss why Hopkins, Nate, and the Mayweathers are being haters and not giving Manny his props.

It's because Hopkins, the Mayweathers, ect all come from a time period where black Americans dominated boxing. At least in the public's eyes they did. From the 60s to the 2000s there were always numerous famous black American fighters captivating the world's attention.

                    There aren't anymore.

I think this backlash from Hopkins, Nate, and the Mayweathers towards Manny is kind of the same thing as the backlash black fighters got once they took the spotlight away from the ***ish and Italian-American fighters all those years ago.

When you hear Floyd Sr. talk about Pacquiao, he's always mentioning Pac's accomplishments "have never been done," "no ones ever done that," ect. So? I think what he's really getting at is that Pacquiao is doing something no black fighter has ever done, and Floyd Sr comes from an era where black Americans were the best-of-the-best. There are tons of guys from that era like Holyfield, Tyson, and Roy Jones that give Pac credit were it's due, but the likes of Floyd Sr, Roger, and Bernard are in denial.

Floyd isn't fighting for whatever reason. Who else is there? Who else has there been? When Pac was at 140 and below, Nate was a bum with 5 losses before exposing Diaz. Bradley and Alexander had yet to make names for themselves.

So who are these fictional black American fighters Pacquiao is ducking?? Pac went up in weight again and fought Clottey, who, as they pointed out on Boxing Truth, is a lot slicker than Shane Mosley.

What are your thoughts? Again, I don't need any replies about how I'm a racist or something. Those of you guys that post here know that I'm regularly accused of being racist against white fighters (see my sign).

While I do think there are some really good black fighters still around, I think it's pretty clear that Americans in general are either not boxing as well or not getting in boxing like they used to be. It's just a shift. Look how many Eastern Europeans are world champions these days as opposed to the 80s.

In 20 years China could hold the majority of the world titles. Change happens. It doesn't have to be popular, but it happens nonetheless.

(I know, the thread title was kind of a race-bait thing, but it's the best I could think of)
What you just posted was straight garbage. You brought up what Hop said, and what Floyd Sr. said about Pac. Hopkins brought up his point about PAc not fighting Black American fighters. What you bring up not only doesn't apply, but there is no race that is dominant in boxing today. Every race has it's stage of champions which changes constantly. You seem to be a PAc fan. Get off of his nuts already...
