However, I disagree with you on being bored with black fighters because they've been there and done that. I feel the public is less interested in boxing because they're expectations are much higher because of all the great (black) fighters theyre used to seeing. This is also why I think Americans like Pacquiao so much. I dont think it has to do with where hes from as much as what hes doing.

    He's fighting exciting.
He's getting in there and ****ing. Hes getting KOs on bigger guys in the 1st round. His fights are unpredictable and his fights are violent. People like him. Just like they liked Tyson, Duran, Hagler, ect.
people today are bored with black boxers. its the truth. look at willams who was as exciting as they come but he had a small fan base. look at cloud who is exciting as they come but he has a small fan base. you think if willams was mexican he would have a small fan base? noooo. people are tired of seeing black fighters because thats what has dominated for so long. it's old news. also the belts mean nothing. there are so many belts out there in the current state of boxing that any and everyone has one lol

most americans don't like pac enough to support his fights. pac is very exaggerated in america. americans really don't know who pac is. you have to remember. most americans believe boxing is DEAD and a thing of the past. 1 out of 20 americans would even know who pac is if you asked on the street lol thats why it's hard to make any money if you are a american fighter. the people can care less about the sport.

when that happens it's gonna be hard to find another tyson or sweet p because theres NO money in it. people with talent will just go on to something else.

Those of you guys that are regulars know me. You know I'm not one of the Soviet-loving guys looking to push some white-supremacy race war **** (Not talking about you, Freedom Fighter). I'm here to discuss a completely different issue; I want to discuss why Hopkins, Nate, and the Mayweathers are being haters and not giving Manny his props.

It's because Hopkins, the Mayweathers, ect all come from a time period where black Americans dominated boxing. At least in the public's eyes they did. From the 60s to the 2000s there were always numerous famous black American fighters captivating the world's attention.

      There aren't anymore.

I think this backlash from Hopkins, Nate, and the Mayweathers towards Manny is kind of the same thing as the backlash black fighters got once they took the spotlight away from the ***ish and Italian-American fighters all those years ago.

When you hear Floyd Sr. talk about Pacquiao, he's always mentioning Pac's accomplishments "have never been done," "no ones ever done that," ect. So? I think what he's really getting at is that Pacquiao is doing something no black fighter has ever done, and Floyd Sr comes from an era where black Americans were the best-of-the-best. There are tons of guys from that era like Holyfield, Tyson, and Roy Jones that give Pac credit were it's due, but the likes of Floyd Sr, Roger, and Bernard are in denial.

Floyd isn't fighting for whatever reason. Who else is there? Who else has there been? When Pac was at 140 and below, Nate was a bum with 5 losses before exposing Diaz. Bradley and Alexander had yet to make names for themselves.

So who are these fictional black American fighters Pacquiao is ducking?? Pac went up in weight again and fought Clottey, who, as they pointed out on Boxing Truth, is a lot slicker than Shane Mosley.

What are your thoughts? Again, I don't need any replies about how I'm a racist or something. Those of you guys that post here know that I'm regularly accused of being racist against white fighters (see my sign).

While I do think there are some really good black fighters still around, I think it's pretty clear that Americans in general are either not boxing as well or not getting in boxing like they used to be. It's just a shift. Look how many Eastern Europeans are world champions these days as opposed to the 80s.

In 20 years China could hold the majority of the world titles. Change happens. It doesn't have to be popular, but it happens nonetheless.

(I know, the thread title was kind of a race-bait thing, but it's the best I could think of)

Spooks will never understand this. Let the Mayweather monkeys believe what they want. Manny, sergio, and the klits rule boxing. Who cares what a jig thinks.

Where the *** do you live? Nebraska???? Idaho???

I disagree, you talk about the sport of boxing and Manny Pacquaio's name will come up. Everybody at my damn job knows who Manny Pacquaio is. Come to Los Angeles, muthaf*** start wars over who's the best p4p.

The man was just on ESPN two weeks ago for christ sakes, LMAO "MOST AMERICANS dont know who he is". Unless you live in a f*** cave!

WTF "1 out of 20 americans" did you take a survery outside on every street corner of America?

I agree it'll help his populairty if he was American, but saying NOBODY IN AMERICA knows who he is just nonsense and coming from pure hate.

              that's not a newsflash

blacks seemed like athletic superhumans in american sports where they competed with the least athletic culture in the world

they've never seemed that way on a global scale... they're not at all over represented in the most global sport of all: soccer

very one-dimensional sports like sprinting (blacks) and weight-lifting (caucasians) may highlight racial differences in bone/muscle structure but boxing is too multifacetted

you know where i live? IN REALTY. actually i DID. i travel for a living. (not just in the united states of america) i asked over 100 people in different states what do you think of "manny Pacquaio" ON THE STREET just out & about. and the common reaction is "who. never heard of em" my own MOTHER AND SISTERS don't know who manny pac is LOL and I am a HARDCORE boxing fan. for the most part you would have to be fully INTO boxing to know who manny is (this has been my experience) which most americans think boxing is A thing of the past. i would say your JOB is CLEARLY in the minority because at my work they still think boxing equals tyson LOL i live in houston/dallas. BOXING CITIES. again MOST OF ALL AMERICANS DON'T KNOW WHO PAC IS. hardcore fans doesn't equal your everyday around the way american.

i mean you can scream and shout about it in till your a** hole blows out but it's the TRUTH.

Mosley used EPO steroids when he fought Margarito.
Nate used EPO Steroids when he fought Juan Diaz.
Frankie Randall used Steroids when he fought Julio Cesar Chavez.
Aaron Pryor used PED's when he fought Alexis Arguello.
Tito Trinidad used Illegal Handwrappings when he fought Vargas, Campas, etc.
                  Evander Holyfield uses steroids too.
james Toney, Roy Jones, Andre Ward also use Steroids.

without PED's many of these boxers wouldn't have gotten this far in boxing.

I forgot to add that Hopkins used EPO Steroids when he fought Kelly pavlik.

(like I said, without Steroids, the Mosleys, Nate's , etc. wouldnt have reached this far in boxing)
