    Agreed.

Ray Robinson 145 vs Jake LaMotta 160
Ray Robinson 158 vs Joey Maxim 173

Henry Armstrong also had fights where he weighed in 10 lbs less than his opponent. If you want to see who's the best, pound for pound, then you let the other guy fight at a reasonable weight.

Still, I'm not saying Pac should fight Martinez. I think it's unreasonable to expect him to do that. If he does, then good on him for trying.

Let's say he beats Floyd and Shane...is there really any point in fightin any of the other 140 and 147lbers? Maybe bradley...but that's it.

Martinez is in the same boat as the Bute fight is out as well as him campaigning at 168 (he is too small as mentioned by himself and Dibella). After Pirog....what's really left for him? I see a Cotto fight and maybe Angulo...but he wont have a lot of big name/big money fights available.

I think by process of elimination, both will eventually meet...but that's just my opinion.
he will not beat floyd and you know that. fighting shane is a disgrace. and he will not face sergio

Good points. This is why I get irritated when fighters from today are compared to Armstrong or Robinson when it comes to this catchweight thing.

then they shouldnt fight at all period. if making a fighter come down in weight is unfair then how is fighting someone 20+lbs over u fair?

            both are correct

i should have picked the second option though....my bad

but i hate how these top guys know that they can make a ton of money with whomever they fight, so they choose the easier, winnable ones.

Martinez has fought at 154lb for most of his career and weighed in at 157 =lbs for the Williams fight.

Pacquiao needs to set up and defend that 154lb belt he has.

Pac and Roach said they'll fight Martinez. what's the problem?

Martinez is the one that said he doesn't want to fight.

                    get your facts straight idiots.
