What did you think about last night fight?

I felt bad for P-Will man cuz I like dude but I was happy for Martinez cuz I like him as well.

That is why I refuse to make a prediction and was just rooting for both.

      1. Manny Pacquiao
      2. Sergio Martinez
      3. Floyd Mayweather

This year, Floyd has only one win - over a past-prime Shane Mosley, who had a draw with Sergio Mora this year.

Let's keep it real and recognize that Pavlik was just as damaged mentally as Margarito. Pavlik just had the luxury of B-hop taking his soul at a higher weight.....allowing Pavlik to hold onto his title.

Pavlik lost was just as bad as Tony...but I guess to each his own. It might have been worst because unlike Margarito who was still trying...Pav crumbled mentally against Martinez....as a result of B-hop destroying any confedence he had as a fighter.

BTW Martinez clearly had the better year, is FOTY without a doubt and also take home KO of the year. He, however, is not higher than Manny P4P....because two wins isn't enough to detrone the Pacman from the number one spot.

Then he deserved to be FOTY but you dont base a fighter's rankings in the P4P with just 2 fights..

I mean that is what it seems that we're doing right now.
how would you compare and rate the opponents and performances of sergio and pac this year. and really pacs last 2 fights didnt really contribute to a p4p #1 status. lastly it might be what is necessary to put him number 1 to shake up pacand mays egos to get their ****** fight done at this point.

naah I think FOTY year is just that...the best fight during that time frame.
P4P is something different though and as it represent the best fighter overall.

no he wasnt. he got his confidence rocked by being beat not by being exposed as a once confirmed cheater and casting a shadow of doubt on his entire career.

Yeah, I kinda played the fence myself with this one although I'm a big fan of PW. That...was as real as it gets. Beautiful...he had that punch the whole time, heck he had that punch in training camp and it landed perfectly. I remember all the times we talked about PW's chin and thinking of the announcers claiming it was iron, but Dirk Diggler raised something earlier this week that flashed through my mind. That was the Sharmba Mitchell fight, where I thought little Sharmba hurt PW at one point. Back then, I thought, this guy is going to get KTFO some day. A few years later, I thought, this guy can walk through anything! Boxing is such a funny sport.

Anyway, Sergio Martinez is a great fighter, period. He may not be pound for pound #1 when you throw in history from years ago or this or that but he is the best fighter in the world today from what I can see. I urge Manny and Floyd to find something better to do than pick on him. Not that they need me to tell them.
