I remember all the times we talked about PW's chin and thinking of the announcers claiming it was iron, but Dirk Diggler raised something earlier this week that flashed through my mind. That was the Sharmba Mitchell fight, where I thought little Sharmba hurt PW at one point. Back then, I thought, this guy is going to get KTFO some day. A few years later, I thought, this guy can walk through anything! Boxing is such a funny sport.

Anyway, Sergio Martinez is a great fighter, period. He may not be pound for pound #1 when you throw in history from years ago or this or that but he is the best fighter in the world today from what I can see. I urge Manny and Floyd to find something better to do than pick on him. Not that they need me to tell them.
I thought P-Will was working the body good, and that Martinez might have trouble with in the late rounds, but Martinez kept on landing the same shot and catching P-Will. And, I remember thinking this is not going the distance. And, then a minute later the KO happened. And, I was shocked.

Martinez is the man, Pacquiao is going anywhere near the man. I didn't need last night fight to tell me Martinez gives Pac a beatdown. But, I just think last night confirmed it to other people.

Floyd I thought was a fight that could possibly happen. But, after last night I just don't know anymore. We will see what he does.

He is in the discussion for P4P IMO, I think it is a 3 man race between Pac, Sergio, and Floyd. Martinez is right there with them. I don't think you can go wrong with either one IMO.

It kinda reminds me like in 2000-2001 when it was Shane, Tito, and Roy going for the #1 spot.

I enjoyed Martinez as well, I been a fan for years. I am glad he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

I feel bad for P-Will, I don't think he is as overrated as people want to proclaim. I just think Burner and the other poster who said P-Will would murk Thomas Hearns at 147 were so annoying when it came to P-Will. That posters on here just to piss Burner and guys of that ilk off didn't respect what P-Will brought to the table, and his willingness to fight anybody.

Paul Williams is more overrated than Ricky Hatton and his skills are non existent. Dude was lucky to win the first fight and he never should have got the W against Kermit the frog.

I swear nobody had even heard of this dude a year ago and now you want to call him the #1? Get out of here with this recklessness.
Exactly. For P4P I think a fighter's whole body of work has to be considered (though recent accomplishments are heavily weighted), and honestly, Sergio's ain't that impressive. Nowhere close to Manny or Floyd's for damn sure. I love the guy, but he's 1-1 with Williams and has a draw with Cintron in recent fights (officially). A decent fighter in Quintana beat Williams straight up, which told me a lot about him already. Good for Sergio for becoming lineal MW champion by beating Pavlik. But the rest of his resume is littered with wins over virtual nobodies, and a loss to Margarito. No need to list Pac or Floyd's accomplishments, but you have to be crazy if you think TWO pretty damn good wins this year, catapults Martinez into the top spot over their great ongoing careers. Fighter of the year yes, but best fighter in the sport, hell no.

if they fight at a catch-weight that Martinez is comfortable in making Martinez would give him a beatdown.

It is useless to argue though cuz Pac would never... ever... ever fight this man.

so comfortable to Sergio and not for Manny? is that what you're saying? useless to argue because your argument is useless.

its like you're saying now that Sergio is an ATG because he will give Manny a beatdown? who has Sergio beat who was as good as Manny? with speed, best footwork in the business and power in both hands?
