it's a lot easier to not get hit while on the defensive than to not get hit while on the offensive.

    common sense.
He's not a slick fighter and I don't think he can be. But it doesnt matter because what he's doing works. Slick is not the only way to be effective.

hatton wasn't one of pac's last 3 opponents.

he's saying cotto , clottey , marg against pacquiao are closer to their primes than delahoya , marquez and mosley against mayweather.

      that's debatable.

What's your point? We all know Mayweather has better defense. Pacquiao is slick. There are times when Margarito couldn't find him. If Pacquiao focused on defense like Mayweather, Margarito wouldn't have landed as much. Pacquiao loves to trade and go to war, and when you do that, you're bound to get hit. You can't compare the career's of the two to be honest, and I'm a fan of Mayweather as well.

Floyd is a defensive minded fighter
Pac is an offensive minded fighter
              Pac get's more KO's
              Floyd receives less punishment.

why do people think pac would be able to beat mayweather? it's laughable. cotto and marg landed 28% of their punches on pac and 0% on mayweather. the dude is that good.

Ok, so since you disregarded this...

4/20/02 W 12 JOSE LUIS CASTILLO (controversial decision, as 5-1 favorite Mayweather outlanded 203-158 by Castillo, who threw 506 total punches to 449 for Floyd (37 per round). Castillo landed 173 of 377 (46%) power shots to just 67 of 152 (44%) for Floyd. After outlanding Castillo 48-27 in first 4 rounds (swept rounds on all cards), Mayweather was outlanded in every round after, including 26-11 in round 7, 35-20 in round 11. Castillo also had edge in power connects in every round.

Castillo landed 40% to Mayweather's 35% and out-landed him, very significantly in power shots despite being a 5-1 betting favorite against a bigger pressure fighter (sound familiar?).

So again- does this mean Floyd isn't slick?

Clottey is in his "prime" but really where does that debate lead.

To me slick really implies the ability to move from offense to defense and back again almost seemlessly.

You can be good at defense without being slick like Winky or Clottey and it goes without saying you can be good at offense without being slick.

The big difference between being slick and very good at defense is what comes of that good defense, both you don't get hit clean alot but one allows you to get off while the other can keep you bottled up.
