Floyd certainly didn't lose to JLC the last time he fought him~

I'm saying it raises his opponents connect % against him.

He's obviously not the defensive wizard that floyd is, but that doesn't exclude him from being considered slick. just the number of angles he punches from and his footwork/speed is going to make him slick.

Using punch stats to prove/disprove slickness is just reaching. Obviously if people were connecting 40% against pac, this thread would have an excuse to exist.

So if there are less punches landed against Vitali than floyd, are we to consider vitali to be slicker than floyd?

I was re-watching a few rounds of pac/marg last night and I noticed that after the nasty body shots in the 6th, Pac blocked almost every single left hook with his elbow. The dude can be very defensive when he chooses to, however, his activity leaves him open to get hit.

Lets also not forget that mannys last 3 opponents have also been a lot closer to their primes than Floyds opponents.

I would consider Manny an offensive fighter, he is good at getting his.

To me if he was a slick offensive fighter he would get his without getting busted up.

He gives way more than he gets but I consider that much more of a product of his offensive game breaking people down then anything little things he does to mitigate getting punched.

By that token if his offense does get mitigated he can find himself in a world of trouble, nobody has done that for a minute though.

That's because Marquez's landing percentage was exactly that.

How many percentage of punches are land on Wladimir and Vitaly? Two of the slickest HW's I tell you....
I dont think either one of those fighters are slick. Fast but not slick. When I hear Slick I think of Pernell Whitaker or Willie Pep.

He will not throw half that against Floyd because he will pay for being open , Floyd shuts them all down because of his countering accuracy and his control of distance ,, Manny throws a lot because of the opponets they are setting up for him , slow and easy to hit they have neen showcasing Manny ,,,, Floyd is an entirely different ballgame .

it's a lot easier to not get hit while on the defensive than to not get hit while on the offensive.

                    common sense.

Margarito is not in his prime. Far from it. Neither was Cotto. So are you saying Hatton was more prime for Pacquiao than he was for Mayweather? That doesnt make sense.
