wasn't there an error in scoring in the FIRST fight? i thought pac won it by a hair.

again, he won it by hair the second fight.

hey what titles did Manny win NOT at a catch weight. heck winning ONE title in professional boxing is an accomplishent..let alone becoming the p4p best fighter in the world. Threads like these are so pointless...waste of time and dumb.

Rubbish. He's an ATG and is my favourite current fighter. His achievements in beating Cotto and Clottey so convincingly were excellent achievements. His achievements prior to that were enough to make him a top 50 ATG, possibly top 30, even if he'd retired immediately after the Hatton fight.

But that doesn't change the fact that the catchweights against Cotto and Margarito will harm his legacy as compared with if he'd fought them both without insisting on a catchweight. They will still be considered good victories but as title fights they will be considered meaningless, and that's a shame. Roach has a lot to answer for in that respect. Pac could have been in consideration for a top 10 ATG spot if those fights hadn't been at catchweights.

And most boxing historians who have said anything on the subject agree with my point of view on this.

For now just a bit but many years after he retired it doesn't matter anymore considering he started boxing at 106, a 140 fighter to the max and never weighed in more than 143 all his welterweight fights.

                  Ofcourse........

You cant fight Oscar at 147 then turn around and fight Cotto at 145.

                  Just inexcusable and cheap.

And after winning a "7th" title at a catch weight. He turns around and caps Margarito at 150 when he originally wanted 149. Cheap move. He wants all the rewards of the 154 Pound VACANT title but doesnt want to risk anything. Its a shame his fans havent called him out on it.

Manny has been jumping up and down the scales to fight

                      JMM (130),
                      Diaz (135),
                      Oscar (147),
                      Hatton (140),
                      Cotto (145),
                      Clottey (147)
                      Margo (150)

you guys lament that Cotto had to come down 1lb from his previous fight.

                      Sheezzzz! ..... lol!
