I view this fight similarly : you admit Vitali shouldn't have picked Briggs, as it was a mismatch, then how is it right to go on with the beating if nobody is protecting the weakling you picked to fight ???

that is when we're not witnessing boxing anymore, but an assault
Are you comparing sparring with an actual professional sanctioned championship boxing match?

    WTF?

    Just please stop.

just to emphasize that in any circumstance, picking and beating up a weakling is not right, furthermore if there is nobody to protect the weakling

I don't care what you trying to emphasize.

It is very ****** to compare a sparring session with a real, professional sanctioned championship prize fight.

Dunno bro, I remember I saw it on a show that you might help me to remember the name. It was a show showing a lot of devastating kos on RDS..... Like I said it was a VERY old Duran, my guess is that it was against Culbert or Cruz but I can't find any footage on internet nor any informations on those fights...

A question for you TS: What if Vitali had signalled to the ref, and at the very moment he turns his head away to do so Briggs nails him with a haymaker out of leftfield and drops him cold... if that had occurred what would your honest reaction and emotional response be? Would you be calling for the fight to be labelled a no contest? Would you be chastising Briggs for taking a cheap shot? Or would you be laughing at Vitali for being a soft-hearted fool who should have kept his eye on his business and let the ref handle his and thus got his just deserts? Answer truthfully now.

truthfully, this is a ridiculous comment, because it could not have happened, simple as that

a fighter is still aware he has a wounded prey in front of him when he gives a little signal to the ref, and since the opponent is already on survival mode, beaten up physically and mentally, I honestly don't think he could find it in him to surprise the champion and knock him out with one shot

besides, Vitali's chin is too good for him to get dropped by the best punch even a fresh Briggs has in his arsenal

I'm not asking you how likely it is to happen, I'm asking you if it happened, what your response would be.

as I said, it doesn't make sense to respond to this as I feel it cannot possibly happen
