This is probably one of the worst ref jobs I've ever seen.

Goes to show that some refs do need waking up even in extreme cases, Ike was known known for not being the nicest of people and for being a big puncher.
    Jesus Christ that was brutal...

Machen vs Johannsen was pretty bad at the end also.

Eddie Machen took a few unnecessary shots. Even though it was just 1 round it was still unnecessary

As for the "cherry picking", wasn't Briggs like the 3rd or 4th choice after other potential opponents declined?
He shouldn't have been anywhere in the top 10 choices.

Actually bro, I saw Duran telling the ref that he should stop it. I'll try to find a video of the fight, I remember it was a really old Duran.

I just think you taking it too far now.

Vitaly did what he had and is paid to do. Is the ref, dr, and corner job to watchout for the fighter safety. Not the opponent job.

                  that's my point actually

I was looking for this video yesterday, but I wrongfully thought it was Joe Gans vs an opponent...

I don't think I'm taking it too far

I multiply video evidence of my claim, which claim is that sometimes, a fighter dishing out punishment has to wake up the ref about the dangerosity of what is going on in the ring

there are still some people like the dude with the nude asian women in his avatar that think my claim is absurd, the video evidence shows it is not absurd

on a side note, I have already countered your argument in a previous comment

I actually think it is absurd to ask why a fighter didn't ask for the fight to get stopped.

I think when a fighter does it should be giving props for the class act.

But, I don't think if a fighter doesn't do it then doesn't mean he doesn't have class. It just means he is doing his job.

So IMO yes you're going to far and your claim is kind of absurd to ask for every fighter(Which seems that you're only asking this from Vitaly not every fighter) to do the job of the ref/corner/dr.
