how can you respect him? he's disgraced boxing with all the shameless ducking he's done. he's made a living off of mismatch fights and robbed the fans from seeing meaningful fights. people used to tune in to boxing to see the best fight the best now they just tune in because floyd is a sideshow circus attraction.

imagine paying 50 bucks to watch the superbowl and instead of the 2 best teams you get the best team playing some middle of the road team. garbage. this is not how sports are supposed to work but it's become the status quo in boxing and people just accept it.

Now it's nothing but mouthing off, disrespect and materialism.

The shameless materialism is very unbecoming.....but he has earned it, so i don't begrudge him for it. Unlike many boxers he hasn't let the big money adversely effect his work ethic....he still trains like he is poor which in this sport is a sign of a real pro.

I understand how some people may not like him outside the ring due to his attitude and his money obsession,
His sheer Stubbornness is what annoys me.

But I don't understand how any BOXING FAN can really distinguish him inside the ring,
How any BOXING FAN can not respect this mans skill is mind blowing.

Basically a Question to the Haters, You may not like Floyd but do you RESPECT him?
I respect his talent and skills, but that's about it. I can't say I respect his work ethic, because WORK ETHICS, as far as I know, doesn't only mean how hard you work, but also how you show respect to your coworkers, your boss, and your work itself. He doesn't give credit where credit is due (sounds familiar). He says HBO is racist, although he is the highest earner in the sport right now. He says he loves the sport but holds it hostage.

Before Mosley I really didn't care for him,see I was 1 of the 90% of fight fans on boxing scene or anywhere that thought he wouldn't fight him!!But he did & took 2 shots that probably ko's anyone else at 147 & beat the brakes off my boy Mosley for 10 rounds immediately after!!I think calling on Manny for extra testing was bull****!!

A lot of his fans believe that he adjusts to fighters,I have my own opinion on what he does!!I think that Floyd actually trains harder than most other fighters & his conditioning is so solid that it's not that he's adjusting,it's just that he remains as strong in the 12 as he was in the 1st!!So while other fighters are slowing down,Floyd is just getting warmed up,in short he's a slow starter but a strong finisher!!

I have more respect for him now than I ever have!!I do think he's been matched softly for the most part, but I also pity him as well because he isn't the only 1 that's been matched softly!!His counterpart Pacman may have fought Cotto, but that was at a catchweight,he is currently training for Margarito, but that is another title catchweight & he doesn't get nearly as much criticism!!As far as they go,I feel it hypocritical to criticize Floyd to the extent people do,but give Pacman a pass for fighting solid fighters, but only doing so at catchweights for title repeatedly!!

Me being a Pacquiao fan myself. I'd say i dont know floyd on a personal level like that. you can't judge someone you dont even know. As a fighter i wouldnt say he's the greatest of all time but yeah for sure i do respect what he's accomplished in boxing. After all he is 41-0 but just his decision making makes him look like the cherry picking ducker he puts him self out to be.

I would respect him if he fights a bigger opponent like P Will. Catchweights don't bother me. Champions deserve the right to dictate the limits. Doesn't matter if he loses. I'll give my props.

But then according to him, "legacy don't pay bills."

He will earn my respect once he fights Pac. Win or lose, he will earn my respect.
I respect his skills, but for the rest, I find him unworthy of any respect.

                    Respect? No.

He totally lost whatever respect that he deserves when he made those racists remarks.
