I think a lot of people who aren't die hard boxing fans, the casual fans, don't see a lot of the brilliance that he brings to the ring, all the subtle nuances that make him great, and they see a boring, slow fight... So, he doesn't get the respect he deserves as far as him being a fighter goes. outside of the ring, he is doing nothing to help his popularity

Respect his talents, yes. I'm not saying all 41 opponents were who I wanted them to be, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

I respect Floyd's accomplishments (always have) and I'm definitely in awe of his skill level.

With that said, I lost tons of respect for him in 2010 and the way he shamelessly DUCKED Manny Pacqiao.

From the drug test demands to the Don King chirade to his vacation rhetoric. I lost a lot of respect for that guy. Fear makes some people act in unstable ways and FMJ proved that.

On the contrary, he's definitely getting his name out, he's just not doing it in a positive way; it's not boxing related, or even good publicity (like Dancing with the stars), instead he's been silent at the worst times, and then he comes out with some really unnecessary videos....

most fans on here aren't savvy enough to see the subtle things Floyd does in the ring. When you can truly see what he does it makes you marvel at just how good he really is. Fights like Castillo 1, Corley, Corrales, Judah, Hatton.....when you examine these fights over and over some of the little things you notice are the work of a virtuoso........

                      As a boxer yes....as a person overall....NO!

I respected Pretty Boy Floyd, he was actually a nice youngster with amazing skills and a hungry attitude.

Now it's nothing but mouthing off, disrespect and materialism.
