Tony had ****ing loaded gloves. Cotto's stamina isn't the best but having been in the ring myself getting hit while wear you down twice as fast so imagine the impact of getting hit by loaded gloves.

In round 7 I think Tony landed a succession of uppercuts that just stopped Cotto dead, it looked like it was def gonna be a problem from there.

did u notice how much force the little punches tony landed seemed to have? cotto has been up against some big guys but that was just unreal...
its one of the reasons panda believes tony probably used plaster that night
YOU can't be serious...which bigger guys had Cotto been against before facing Tony? every fighter Cotto faced prior to Margarito were smaller guys with the only exception of Mosley, that is why he was able to impose his physical strength to break them down. Tony is and will always be stylistically perfect to beat Cotto over and over again. Even at 140 he was bigger than all of his opponents.

            u just said it urself...mosley...

also foreman was bigger than margarito although not as much of a puncher

also notice how u highlighted me saying "big guys" not bigger guys

clottey was just as big as cotto too, so was quintana

at 140 kelson pinto was the same size as cotto but taller, kind of like margarito was when they fought. torres was just as big...but u have to take in the factor cotto was in his early twenties when he fought them

Foreman, Clottey were post-Margarito so it holds no water on the original argument. Prior to Margarito the only physically "big" opponent Cotto faced was Mosley, not in terms of height, just strong, but at the time Mosley was already considered past prime and Top Rank thought it was an excellent name to add to Cotto's resume.

No other opponent Cotto faced prior to Tony were able to walk him down the way he did, to make him fight going backwards which was something Cotto was never used to doing. There was no cheating that night, just an old fashion ass whooping. Styles makes fights, don't you forget about that.

Also, all of the "big" guys you just mentioned were soft. Guys that could be broken down by Cotto. Torres was not big, he was just a big puncher, Miguel was physically stronger than everyone he fought at 140, his natural weight class was always 147.

margarito probably wore plaster that night and if so that obviously played a part in what happened, but ppl need to stop blaiming everything on the possible use of plaster and acting like cotto would have won the fight had tony been clean. the truth is cotto fought a bad fight regardless, he got big headed and forgot what kind of boxing brought him to the top. bad strategy and stylistic matchup on cottos part is the reason he lost. plaster if used "just" made it more bloody, it ruined cotto but he lost the fight on his own due to a poor gameplan.
I agree with the bolded; but if Margs used loaded gloves that shouldnt be over looked.

I rewatched it too and then I was like dayum, Cotto seems to be on druggs. Totally unreal performance of Cotto. Just like 'something' keeps him from going on like he used to.
