Judging by todays standards Floyd's win over Baldomir is totally legit.

prime baldomir was a beast. he beat gatti, mickey rodriguez and zab judah. he was clearly the best welterweight of the last decade. margarito, cotto, pacquiao, and paul williams were pretenders. notice how they never fought baldomir. they all demanded 10 mill and arum would only guarantee 8! they ducked him!

Very true, no way Manny would move up and fight the "authentic" way. He has figured out a way to weight drain his competition as he moves up. All the disadvantages should be on him for moving up like they were for Hennry Armstrong, but they are not. Pacquiao has and continues to cheat boxing history.

do you think floyd would ever fight cotto at 145? or margarito at 151? even though that's not weight draining him since he's a welterweight. if that's weight drained then floyd fought a weight drained shane mosley. most of mosley's recent fights have been at 154 and floyd didn't even want to fight for mosley's belt yet he still made the fight at 147 since he knew he would struggle to make the weight. result=weight drained zombie who couldn't fight more than 2 rounds. cheater.

The point is if Pacman-Margarito is ok,then no one has the right to criticize Floyd for beating Baldomir who was a lineal titlist!!By todays standard Floyd has done what he needed to & he did it without catchweights!!Any defenders of his counterpart need not use the Marquez catchweight fight because that wasn't for a title!!

Yes the Punisher & Martinez are indeed fighting at a catchweight!!But Martinez beat Pavlik & earned the middleweight title & is now defending that middleweight title against the Punisher!!Margarito has earned......well nothing at 154,come to think of it,neither has Pacman,no 154 champ is fighting for a title that night!!

Sure Margarito doesn't really deserve to get a title shot this early, doesn't mean it's not going to be a tough fight.
A tough fight isn't the point of the tread though!!The point of the tread is that when Floyd beat Baldomir he beat a real & true lineal titlist, but he gets flak for the win!!When & if Pacman beats Margarito,it'll be for a vacant title against a cheater(proven against Mosley),at a catchweight for a vacant title,if Pacman gets credit for that, then Floyd must get credit for Baldomir & fully!!

floyd didn't need a catchweight to beat baldomir cause he was so terrible. he refused to ever fight margarito. do you think if margarito was lineal champ he would have fought him? nope but he chose to fight the bum so he could get the titles but then he says "belts only collect dust" hypocrite!

I couldn't tell U what Floyd would have done, because I don't know!!But Baldomir had more credibility towards 147 than either Margarito or Pacman have toward 154,that's the truth & I'm surprised anyone can try to argue that fact!!

yes, there are more threats at 154 than margarito

but margarito is more of a threat to pacquiao than baldomir was to floyd.

not to mention floyd has been fighting at welterweight and above for 5 years while manny has been fighting at 135 a couple of years ago.
