Sorry, that's your opinion and the general population doesn't agree.
I got that impression when Jones spent rounds poking out his tongue and laughing to himself while the cowd was booing
Then maybe you should watch again.

How many rounds did you give him in tarver III?
4,5, 10. Could make a case for round six and 12 too

What fights did they get gifts and refused to give rematches. Mayweather clearly got a gift against Castillo, but gave a rematch. Calzaghe beat Hopkins fair and square- so he didnt have to give old bhop a rematch
Dude, just stop it. Hopkins-Calzaghe deserved a rematch. Especially when the alternative was a money-losing fight againsta shot...Jones.

Benn agreed to fight McClellan shortly after Jones-Toney, which means he was promised a shot at Jones by King, way before Jones made him a offer

After he got his contract he became a different fighter. Seth Abraham who gave Jones the contract, would say in hindsight it was a mistake.

How do you know that, that was all that happened?

Promised by King? Which means what exactly? Yeah, we agree...nothing.

        That's nice.

        Contradict me.

We are going to have to compare scorecards on that fight. I had it 7-5 for Tarver. Jones knew he lost look at his facial expression after the score was read. When he stepped on the ropes the crowd booed him

We are going to have to compare our scorecards on that. No way did Jones win that many rounds

          Come on dude, stop trolling
Hopkins threw 18 punches a round and landed 6 per round
He was constantly throwing a right hand then leading with a headbutt
          He was clinching consistently
          Hitting low
          Hitting on the break
          Faking low blows
He deserved to lose and I'm glad he did

Nope, the alternative was a fight with Pavlik. Fighting Jones was nonsense, calzaghe himself said that Jones was shot in his autobiography

          • Man, I don't even wanna hear about Benn and Eubank. You can apply the same logic to them.

            They didn't fight Jones.

            They didn't fight Toney.

They barely sc****d by (ie. gift) Sugar Boy Malinga, who Jones left looking at the lights.

They aren't even HOF'ers. Just some good fighters who fought the same people 100 times.

Yeah, that's why Calzaghe fought Jones. What a warrior. BTW, I thought Joe beat Hops. But if any fight warranted a rematch, it was that one.

And I had Jones winning 7-5 or 8-4 against Tarver, don't remember. Close but clear.

It shows that he was thinking about a Jones fight before any offer was made to him

In April 2006, when Jones was mulling whether he would fight again, I asked former HBO Sports president Seth Abraham for his thoughts on this enigma wrapped in a riddle.

“His drive was to do things that were of interest to him, but not necessarily to fight the very best middleweights, super middleweights and light heavyweights who were out there,” Abraham responded. “I think Roy’s legacy in the sport absolutely will suffer because he chose not to do everything he could to make himself as great as he might have been.”

Things didn't always go smoothly. "The [longterm] Roy Jones contract was a mistake," Abraham acknowledges. "I misread Roy. I thought that pride and his wanting to go down in history as one of the greatest fighters of the modern era would lead him to want more competitive fights; and obviously, he was satisfied with lesser opponents."

Even his own boy Abraham, says he didnt try to fight the best guys out there

When Jones gave that talk before the Brannon fight, he said he made offers to the other champions in his division. He wasnt talking about Benn because Benn lost all of his fights that year and Jones said himself that he would of only given Benn a shot if he beat Collins II

He wasnt talking about Eubank, because Eubank wasnt a champion either, he had lost his belt to Collins in 94 and was in semi retirement at the time of the Brannon talk.

The champions he was talking about were:
                    Collins(wbo)
                    Liles(wba)
                    Nardiello(wbc)

Not wanting to fight Toney, isnt the same as not wanting to fight Jones

Benn should be in the HOF

Read again. I said they didn't fight Toney.
