Im sorry. You wont get much from me. Thats ludicrous at best. How in 2010 are we knocking the guy for fighting Oscar in boxing BIGGEST fight ever. When at the time EVERYONE was going nuts about it.

Then he fought Hatton in another HUGE fight.

You wont get much from me on that. I refuse to clown a guy for going after the 2 biggest fights in the sport.
I've already said I had no problem with him taking those fights provided he then defended his lineal crown against one of the top contenders at his own weight. But he didn't.

It was a good win. Floyd beat the Number 1 fighter in his weight class. No matter how you spin it. What is a bad win because Baldi wasnt Sugra Ray Leonard? Come on man.

He earned his shot. Please dont make me post all the articles of fighters like Marg, Cintron and Williams picking Baldi. Or other respected writers picking Baldi.

Hindsight is always 20/20. It was a good win. Baldi fought hard all 12 rounds. He didnt come in the ring and lay down.
he was the wbc #1, ring #6

      margarito was the ring #1.

baldomir was nothing more than a journeyman on a good run against second and third tier fighters.

Its very rare guys who hold all the cards will set down and defend titles.

Case in point: When Pac won his 135 Pound and 140 Pound titles. He didnt defend either of them.

You'll be hard pressed to see guys like Floyd or Pac sit down and have a string of title defenses. Especially given how Floyd feels about sanctioning fees (not wanting to pay for Shanes belt). You know that wasnt going to happen.

He beat him fair and square but that wasn't the same Judah who beat Spinks or the same Judah who gave Floyd a very tough fight for several rounds. Judah was a talented but extremely inconsistent fighter. His overall resume is far better than Boldomir's though. But neither Judah nor Boldomir would have beaten Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Williams or Clottey if they had fought them at that time. Being the lineal champion doesn't necessarily make you the best fighter. Shannon Briggs was the lineal Heavyweight champion once, but he was barely a top 10 Heavyweight at the time. He just got lucky.

That's not what I said. I said there were better Welterweights, I did not say more deserving ones. For the fifth time, Floyd was right to fight Boldomir, But Boldomir was not the best Welterweight at the time. Boldomir would have lost to any of the five fighters I mentioned above, and so would Judah.

Again no one said Baldi was the best fighter. But he was however the only WW to put himself in position to be the Ring Champion. Those other 5 guys didnt. Baldi had the most important belt at 147 pounds. Its just how it was at the time.

Whether he wins or loses or Judah for that matter doesnt matter. Whatd oes matter is that Floyd wasnt wrong for fighting Baldi like you mentioned. So I dont get what the fuss is about. No one said Baldi was this great legendary fighter.

Were basically going in circles. If you dont knock Floyd for fighting Baldi. Then that alos means those other 5 guys are irrelevant considering Floyd had his sights set on making the biggest 2 fights in the sport and the fact those 5 werent Lineal Champ.

so did the ranking make him a better fighter than he actually was? no he still was nothing more than a journeyman who caught lightning in a bottle.

and don't be naive. .he did not put himself in position for the lineal title, he was handpicked as an easy touch, because the fight between zab and floyd was already in the works. this fight was just supposed to be a b.s. easy defense.

That why the fights have to be fought correct? Oscar though Pac was an easy win as well. How'd that turn out?

Baldi BEAT Judah fair and square. There was nothing lucky about it.
