Also is probably more competitive (Baldomir against Margarito would be a competitive fight though)

He wasn't anything, but he deserves to be recognized as the man in that time period. His streak of 8 years undefeated and then wins over Zab and Gatti is impressive in my view. Especially for a guy who sold featherdusters for a living.
If I was a professional boxer and went through what he did and had the record he has with little to no power, I wouldn't be ashamed of it at all. Sure he deserves some respect. As much **** as we talk on this forum.. any fighter who makes it at least to that point does really.. but at the end of the day, when comparing him against the best of the best, you can't grade the man above a B-, I would say a C.. but that's just my opinion.

I have never seen a Pac fan give David Diaz any credit. They say it was reasonable for Pac to take the fight at that time because it was his first fight at a new weight. And that it gave him another alphabet belt at a new weight. That's all.

And it was reasonable for Floyd to fight Boldomir when he did. But idiots who try to make him out to be more than a journeyman who got lucky are delusional.

Also true. Damn what happened to that guy he had the Baldi sig with him punching Floyd.

I havent seen ONE Floyd fan go nuts over the Baldi win. Its a fine line IMO. I see Pac fans always mentioning Pacs lineal title wins without naming the opponent. But when it comes to Floyds Lineal WW win. Baldi is always crapped on.

I disagree, from fans(mainly Floyd fans) speak about him and regarded him higher than what they should. But, I get it is more do to make the Floyd win better than what it really was.

But, Baldo is a David Diaz level fighter. Can take that how you wanted as an insult of a postive for him. But, that was the type of level he was.

The extra stuff is irrelevant. We cant blame Floyd for Baldi beating Judah.

Baldi was the WBC and Ring Number #1 WW. He did what he had to do to earn his shot.

Exactly, right. I have no problem with that Flody-Baldomir fight. It was the right fight for Floyd at the time. However, don't make Baldomir out more than what he is. He was just a Zab Judah creation.

I honestly have never seen Baldi mentioned as a great fighter. Not one time on here.

It was reasonable for Floyd to take the fight because of the fact it was for the lineal title. But to say it was a good win is ridiculous. Boldomir was and is a journeyman.

                    Carlos Manuel Baldomir has 43-9-6.

                    9 lost!

A Journeyman who also was the Ring Number 1 WW and the WBC Number 1 WW.

It was a good win. Floyd beat the Number 1 fighter in his weight class. No matter how you spin it. What is a bad win because Baldi wasnt Sugra Ray Leonard? Come on man.

He earned his shot. Please dont make me post all the articles of fighters like Marg, Cintron and Williams picking Baldi. Or other respected writers picking Baldi.

Hindsight is always 20/20. It was a good win. Baldi fought hard all 12 rounds. He didnt come in the ring and lay down.
