How the *** do you know? were you in camp with him? Are you a Cotto camp insider? No you are not so stop making up things and circumstances that you have no way of observing yourself or even proving thatb they actually happened.

Yeah Cotto was starving himself before the fight thats why in the 24/7 leading up to the Cotto/Pac match up he was having a BBQ and HBO showed him eating some Puerto Rican steak/meat on a stick smothered in BBQ sauce.

Yeah thats what a man struggleing to make weight does. He eats BBQ!!!

Gentlemen, one at the time please. Cotto was overtraining by over working 6 days of the week. Emmanuel drop that sht as soon as He stepped in so yes, He was a little over trained for the Clottey fight too. It doesn't take a genius or been Cotto shadow to see that.
But less not just talk about Cotto becuase this thread is not just about him. We are talking boxing and yes, I have worked with a few boxers in my time.
I'm just not talking sht here because I have a keyboard.
I know how much a boxer stuggles to make weight and know how much a few lbs can change his game.

Seriously you guys will overexagerrate anything you crybaby drama queens!
Hydrating becomes more difficult if you have overtrained, because your body then requires more time to completely recuperate. So a 24 hour period doesn't say much.

You aren't very smart are you?

I shed weight all the time currently to fight, and use to religiously to wrestle. Losing weight isn't rough because fighters are lean (rare cases) losing weight is tough because most fighters have a lot of weight to lose to make weight, and extra poundage to lose then requires an even harder camp which can influence/cause one to over train.

Many welterweights walk around in between 160-175. That's 20 to 30 potential pounds they are losing and only about 10 of which is water. Add in a few extra pounds to lose via catchweight and you have a pretty tough camp, because it's not just cutting weight, but cutting weight effectively. Can't do it too fast, there's a science to cutting so that the fighter stays strong.. and extra lbs to lose can potentially "rush" the cutting process.

As for cotto re hydrating; against pacman he physically looked better than I've ever seen him. He looked shredded, which is unusual for him on fight night. Cotto usually carries water in his mid section on fight night and can look noticeably heaviar in his waist with less definition in his mid than the night before during weigh in. This didn't happen for pacman. He looked as lean during the fight as he did at the weigh in - and it can definitely raise questions.

Pistol, you want to continue hitting the same nail and I'm trying to make this thread about boxing and training. Not about Cotto.
I do get reports of Cotto's camp and his training Sir from reliable sources on both Bairoa Caguas and Kissimee FL.
But that's not the point I'm discussing. Can you tone it down just a bit.
If you have something to contribute to the thread, great.

Exactly man. I hate when people say shit like "it's only a pound. All he has to do is take a shit"...

Idiots. If he hasn't already taken a shit then there's nothing to **** because he's probably empty. Losing a pound or two is alot harder than it sounds when

                      1) You're already in great shape

                      2) You need to maintain strength for the fight the next day

                      3) You already do everything possible to make weight as it is
