He didn't show a damn thing, because he made weight 3 1/2 years later... the comparison is laughable.

He got caught in the second round and that's that.

To use the Trinidad fight in 2008, is absolutely ridiculous.

I just wanted to show he was a pussey for fighting smaller washed up guys.

      LOL.

And mister tired won the first fight at 175 so it's all irrelevant anyways.

Roy came in toned for the Ruiz fight. Losing muscle mass is hard work and not good for your stamina. You tend to get fat while trying to trim down due to the higher caloric intake and slower metabolism your body was accustomed to when bulking up. That stuff affects people negatively usually, the same thing happened to Tarver after he made that Rocky movie. Especially when these guys are in their 30's and their metabolism is much slower than when they were in their 20's.

For the Ruiz fight he came in at 193, wow he put on 18lbs of muscle for that fight sounds significant but its not like Roy is walking around at 175.

Typically Roy would come in on FN at around 182 still small for a LHW but this leads me to believe that walks around at least this making his weight gain really only around 10lbs at most.

I know they gave a FN weigh in of 200 for Roy but sounds like BS to me because it was a HW fight and why would he come in so much lighter if he didn't have to and risk possibly draining himself giving his opponent an advantage?

Roy is not a huge guy and 193 was all he can put on which is about as much and maybe not even as much as some LHWs walk around at, not to mention he had a full 8 months from the Ruiz fight to lose a measly 10 lbs.

The truth is a combination of time and Tarver being a good and at the time a hungry fighter is what attributed to Roy not looking like superman in that fight......not the moderate amount of weight he put on.
Roy was not cutting 25 pounds of muscle when he trained before the Ruiz fight. he was cutting fat. Cutting Muscle is a entire different thing. it is harder to do while trying to retain strength.

Traver had Roy's number still, but watch the fight again and see how early Roy gassed.

Anyone who this jones wasn't severely drained is kidding themselves. A healthy Roy would have beat Ruiz convincingly like he beat Ll others.

I think you mean Tarver and he had 2 other other chances to prove it was just a bad performance due to this weight he lost but couldn't get it done.

Tarver deserves no credit for the win. I you are a true boxing fan you would know that the Roy after the Ruiz fight was not the same. It was Roys time to go. The maker of this thread has something against rjjr. But in all we know tarver, calzaghe, bhop, Danny green would have never even come close to beating a prime RjJR. End of thread

Jones admitted Tarver always had his number.
