  • i love floyd.. but the problem with floyd is challenging himself to the fullest of his

abilities... i dont wanna call him cherrypicker but he is very WISE on getting

opponent who he can get better of his abilities to be applied well.

    Could have beaten PBF:

    SRR
    SRL
    Duran
    Prime ODLH
    Hearns
    Armstrong

On his time he never fought:

Some 140 that he beaten are Kostya's too.

Kostya at 140 although he got a lost to Ricky Hatton but style makes fight
    Casamayor ar 135
    Cotto at 147
    Margarito at 147
    Pail Williams at 154

If he will never fight the biggest fight:
    Pacquiao

He doesn't have huge KO power at 140, 147, but it's solid enough to make guys weary, but Duran was an absolute beast in those weight classes with a granite beard. I don't think Floyd would be able to slow him down and would get smothered and worked over.
watch the esteban fight then tell me how much a granite beard duran had and how he cant be slowed down.. Guys duran is a great fighter. Pure class @135.
however Duran vs. Mayweather @135 is a fight where either fight can get Knock down and possibly knocked out.

But i truly believe Duran would have had too many problems with PBF straight right and mayweather's left hook..THE SAME problem duran had with Esteban

                • Im not sold on Tommy beating Floyd. And Tommy is from my city and hes my favorite fighter of all time. I have the career set, etc.

Im not sure he beats Mayweather. A big deal is made about 147 not being Floyds best weight so its not fair to match him with the ATG WW's.

I dissagree. This isnt his best weight but even still hes still amazing at 147.

Do you understand the concept of counterpunching? Though I still think Hearns would beat him.

If i had to choose one it would have to be at 135, as other posters have stated 135 was where Floyd looked his best, and i agree. And i think at 135, without doubt Mayweather Vs. Duran would be the most epic, and would be an outstanding fight, i think Duran has tools that would give Mayweather trouble and could definitely come close to beating him. But man, i think Mayweather would pull out the victory.

At 147, as Jro mentioned, its his 4th weight class, alot of fighters have a good shot at beating him i dont think its fair to compare this one, then again is till think he could be competitve with alot of ATG at 147 personally. 135 is his best i think best vs best is the best way to do it.
Really imo he looked his worst at 135 and 154 and his best at 130, 140. At 135 he was arguably beat by Castillo(not my opinion) and struggled with Sosa.

That's not to say Castillo wasn't a very good fighter, but I have serious reservations about his greatness.
Please tell me who had a better run at lightweight than him in the past 10 years, Castillo is so underrated.

The same goes for other welterweight defensive masters such as Benitez and Locche.
Whitaker possessed the best bodypunch I've seen and threw a huge amount of punches with high accuracy, please actually watch some of his fights. He was a southpaw also had better defense(not counterpunching ability) than Floyd. At 135 I'd favor Pea, at 140 I'm not sure but at 147 I think Floyd wins. I do agree with you about Benitez and Locche

if offset his offense a little for a couple of rounds it wasnt a serious problem. Oscars jab>>>Cottos jab, he is also taller with a longer reach.

SRL, SRR, Prime Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Prime Chavez at 135(If Castillo can Beat Floyd, I'm sure a Prime Chavez Sr can),
Did you even watch May-Castillo? Castillo fought like a master on the inside, something Cotto cannot do, also understand that the Castillo fight is not the blueprint to beat Floyd it was just an offnight which is why Castillo couldnt repeat the success he had in their first encounter

Imo Duran would have to be favored at 135, imo Floyd wasnt his best at that weight, he had speed but not enough power and strength to go with. I dont see either of them getting knocked out I just see the more experienced Duran convincingly decisioning May in a competitive fight. At 147 I see Floyd frustrating him and picking him apart eventually winning a close decision.

                    • Leonard, Duran, Hearns obviously.

I also think Frankie Randall and Terry Norris would've given him fits.
