Now that's a hard one, only because Floyds skill level and ring smarts are above and beyond fighters I've seen in my life time.
That being said, if u were to create a fighter to beat Floyd he'd have to have atleast the same if not close to his level.

You mentioned Norris, he's what popped into my head when I read the title. Pretty close skill set (different skills but just as many tools)..
Big, strong, elusive and crisp. A fighter that boxes and a boxer that fights, a beast for sure.
Norris could take Floyds shots all 12 and not lose focus, that's one thing I loved about that dude. He was smart, a true chess master. Not a dude who rushed, he'd let it soak in sorta like Floyd does. Punish you then tuck you in.

If I had to pick 1 and why.....
      Terry Norris....
      Why?
He has all the tools needed plus one Floyd has lacked above 35 "a patient killers instinct"..

I'm going to go with Roberto Duran between 135-147. Castillo gave Floyd some problems, and Duran is better than Castillo in every way. Floyd's pop is underrated. He doesn't have huge KO power at 140, 147, but it's solid enough to make guys weary, but Duran was an absolute beast in those weight classes with a granite beard. I don't think Floyd would be able to slow him down and would get smothered and worked over.

I think 140 and under, Julio Cesar Chavez has a good shot too. Chavez had put a lot of miles on his body by a pretty early age. I think prime he's an all-time great with a good shot at it.

Basically to have a chance to beat Mayweather Jr, you need a granite chin, need to be able to cut off the ring, need be incredibly well conditioned, need power in both hands, need to be able to throw combinations to head and body. So, no small feat.

I have said it before (many times), and I will say it again!

I am hard pressed to find a fighter that beats Floyd...The man is a great fighter, but there are two fighters (and maybe my bias has to do with it) that I feel could have beat Floyd.

              135-Stevie Johnston

              140-Frankie Randall

The Randall pick for me is sort of difficult, only cause in reallity, Floyd may have found a way to time Randall...Although, Randall was not all that predictible.

Randal was a great mid range, and inside fighter. I believe he would have made if ruff on Floyd. Very ruff. When Randall was on the outside, his 1-2 was textbook, and packed a lot of power in his right hand...Hell, both hands!

I think that fight is really a toss up for me, but I think Randall could of won it.

Now for the Stevie fight. There are four fighters that I consider (in my era of watching boxing, not going to go to far back with this) great "pocket" fighters. Those would be Stevie, Frankie, Floyd, and Manny. Not in any real order. The term "pocket fighter" to me means, a fighter that is great from mid, to short range. In my view, Stevie was the best I had seen...Floyd is great at it too, but Floyd wasn't shoter than every fighter he faced. Not only do I believe that Stevie would have beat Floyd, but I think he would have done it by a few rounds.

Stevie had great head movement, footwork, fast hands, a good chin, and very, very underratted power. Not to mention as Max and Harold have said over and over again, "one of the best ring generals they had ever seen"...Stevie would have kept a fight with Floyd right in the center of the ring. You might think that would be advantage Floyd, but you would be wrong. Stevie was also a thinker in ring. He threw educated punches that created openings on fighters, then he would go after it. People forget that Stevie had a great right jab to the body, that he would follow with the straight left (sort of like Floyd jab to the body)...It was pretty much money everytime.

Stevie was not the easiest fight to time either...His in and out style (ala Pac), and being a southpaw made that difficult.

At 135, Stevie was the total package. I feel he would have beat Floyd if they fought.

Prime Cotto, if Oscars jab gave Floyd problems which it did. I think prime Cotto's jab would obliterate Floyd. Great duck, because Cotto even now adays would give Floyd problems.

I heard Burt Sugar say that jab gave Floyd problems for six rounds, I only counted like one round where it did though. Maybe I need to watch again.

                    • Haha thanks for the mention as a Notorious Mayweather Fan Horus. That made me feel great

I would say, honestly at 130-147, nobody in the history of boxing, that I know of. Probably Leonard, if I had to choose.

At 154, in the history of 154, which if i'm not mistaken 154 was not around back then. But maybe at 154 Floyd could lose against some one real big who has a pressuring type of style and some good boxing skills. I honestly don't have a name in particular. But I know it's more of a weight thing. The weight will affect Floyd's performance.

154-160 Floyd could lose. 130-147, nobody beats him.
