He doesn't have huge KO power at 140, 147, but it's solid enough to make guys weary, but Duran was an absolute beast in those weight classes with a granite beard. I don't think Floyd would be able to slow him down and would get smothered and worked over.
But Castillo was bigger. And still look at the rematch when Floyd was 100%. He frustrated hell out of Castillo and almost proved to everyone that he was indeed not 100% in the first fight. A 100% Floyd Mayweather vs Duran, would look almost as good as Leonard looked in the rematch against Duran. IMO.

      ^^^^^^^^very true, that's why he's still undefeated.

if telling the truth is not accepted in this thread, then put me on ignore too.

      • I'm sure the Pacquiao of today!!!There's a reason why Floyd's ducking at all cost!!! and maybe Cotto!! PBF lost to Castillo, a Pressure Body puncher. Cotto's a better fighter than Castillo.

        The Olds...

SRL, SRR, Prime Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Prime Chavez at 135(If Castillo can Beat Floyd, I'm sure a Prime Chavez Sr can),

Name 1 Fighter that could have beat Floyd.

            154: Terry Norris
Basically Terry Norris was too much of a monster in this division. Plain and Simple. Floyd Would have to have the night of his life to beat Norris at 154 and he still would take punishment in the process..
            I seriously believe this..

If Mosley could buckle floyd like he did in the 2nd round.. My God.. Norris would end **** quick. Just watch the John Mugabi fight.

I mean Damn look what Norris did too Meldrick Taylor when they fought...

I honestly believe Mayweather would have need to have the best night of his life to beat Norris at 154 in both of their primes.

I am soley basing this of their attributes and skill set..

How about you guys, pick one fight and why..
I think Sugar Ray Leonard would have beaten Floyd at 147. Hearns would be a 50-50 matchup IMHO, depending on if he is able to knock Floyd out in the first 5 or 6 Rounds, otherwise Floyd takes it. All depends on Hearns stamina and Floyd's defense/chin, I think while Floyd has a great defense his chin is underrated too, most guys would have been knocked out by the shots he took against Mosley or atleast lost their balance and knocked down, because of the area where the punches landed...its hard to maintain your equilibrium after being hit by the shots Floyd got hit by in that fight, I was impressed by his ability to recover and his balance was good that night.

BTW Meldrick Taylor wasn't the same fighter after the Chavez fight, even though I believe that fight was controversial and Taylor was cheated.

Prime Oscar (old, semi-retired Oscar nearly pulled it off)
              Hearns
              Leonard
              Robinson
              Basilio

Guys I suspected would have beaten him?

              Forrest
              Trinidad
              Mosley
              Pryor
              Tzsyu
              Duran
              Quartey
              Griffith
              Gavilan
              Armstrong
              Margarito

I think Whitaker, Benitez and Locche would be strong underdogs but they fought similar styles to Mayweather defensively but lacked Floyd's offensive prowess.

Guys I would favor over him now?
              Pacquaio

Lol, you've got to be kidding me. If your an Oscar fan, oscar won 4 rounds at the most, I scored it 9-3 for Floyd. If anyone scored more than 4 rounds for Oscar in that fight, then I'm glad they aren't boxing judges.

Also the young oscar didn't nearly use his jab enough to give Floyd problems, infact he used his jab more often later on, when he became a smart fighter...the young oscar your talking about was inexperienced.

Didn't know you have to always KO fighters to win a boxing match.

Even at 135/140 where Oscar was at his best at. Floyd would still work him over.
                    You beat me to it.

Duran was a much better fighter than Castillo. I'm not saying Castillo is bad or anything, he was very good. Duran would have a better shot, but I'm not even saying he'd definitely beat him. I just think he's one of those guys that would give anybody trouble.

I'd also like to add that the most important thing when fighting Floyd, which you reminded me of, is having nerves of steal. You can't get frustrated or be mentally weak. That might be a strike against Duran because he was pretty emotional in the ring.
