I just rewatched that fight and man oh man did Cotto land some SERIOUS flush bombs.

I thought they were just arm punches but Margs head was flying all over the place. No normal man can take that may hard bombs and be the same afterwards. He was unleashing 4-5 power combos over and over.

I decided to watch the fight and only focus on what Cotto did. He ruined Margarito.

Margarito won the fight but he lost the war.

This is so true. I think Cotto took the knee to avoid being ruined. But Margarito survived the first part of the fight, when he was getting trashed. Maybe Cotto could, maybe he couldn't, but he chose not to.

However, the last page in Cotto/Margarito is yet to be written.

Margarito circa' 2003-2006 was a killer, that's when everyone avoided him, and rightfully so.

Please...Cotto just gave Margarito extra battle scars, that's it. Margarito on the other hand did ruin Cotto, an undefeated fighter who had created this false mirage of being unstoppable. Besides beating the hell out of him he destroyed his confidence.

Mosley didn't ruined Margarito, it was a combination of him having the perfect fight plan, Margarito's weight issues during camp plus all that BS behind scenes about the wraps minutes before such a big fight. His mind was never in the fight and neither was his body.

Some of you need a serious reality check..Margarito tried to load his gloves against Mosley like a coward and got properly beat down like a coward. And hes the one that got his "mirage" of invincibility shattered and was humiliated that same night..Though it cant be proven, he probably loaded his gloves against Cotto too..

I couldn't agree more. Not to mention the countless wars Tony had before. But he took sooo many shots against Miguel - and to me, even though he won, I thought his performance wasn't as good as what I'm accustomed from him. Compare Tony's fluidity and speed versus Clottey against how much slower he looked against Cotto, for instance. But anyway, I agree with the TS. That fight took a lot out of him.

Cotto has more left in the tank. Garcia made Margarito look bad, Cotto would have destroyed Garcia in my opinion.
