The guys that would do well in MMA are guys like Cintron...not overwehlmingly skilled(you dont really even need THAT much skill to beat mma guys in standup, or even outclass them)...just solid all around, and pretty physically gifted. also Cintron was naturally gifted at wrestling in high school, so it would give him insight into preventing takedowns. he has good power as well.
now he would do fairly well in MMA.

Toney, aside from being fat and shot, also doesn't have the right style for MMA striking IMO. Obviously he has good hands, but someone like Mayorga would've had a better chance due to the fact that he's arguably the biggest, strongest, hardest hitting 154lber in the world. I don't really think any boxer is a natural fit for MMA, but the 'puncher's chance' is greater if you're aggressive and can actually punch very hard.

I think Cintron could have some success being that he's a rangy fighter with good power and has a wrestling background. One of the reasons I mention him is because he offered to fight in the UFC:

No MMA org would sign him, cintron even offered 20/80 split and the MMA orgs were still scared of him. lmfao

No thats just some excuse Mercer made up! The fight was sanctioned utilizing all rules of pro MMA and actually Mercer outweighed Kimbo. Kimbo never comes in over 225.
