what a ****ing idiot Vitali is
    **** that robot
Vitali did everything but throw David Haye into the ring. You can say what you want, but he's active, and he'll fight twice when Haye has fought ZERO times as a paper belt holder.

Definitely take the opportunity; it's not everyday that you get to see, arguably, an ATG heavyweight in action...

And I think that fighting Briggs is better than Haye's current opponent (nobody) or fighting Bruce Seldon in an illegal exhibition.

Briggs has name value, and unlike most of the guys who fight the Klits, he will actually try to win.

Furthermore, no matter your opinion of Briggs you cannot dispute that his power is enough to get rid of just about anyone.

Haye wouldn't have the sack to fight Briggs, he knows that Briggs would knock him out in 1 round.
What gives you the idea that he will "try and win"?

The same way Peter and Gomez tried to win? Or how about the same way Rahman and Thompson tried to win against Wlad? Old farts with no athleticism are just there for the payday.

Have you seen Briggs fight? The dude isn't active enough to beat a Klitschko. He'll be pummeled.

Does he have a punchers chance? Yes, all boxers do. But just like what happened to Arreola, Vitali knows how to keep his range brilliantly and will batter your face for trying to get close.

Briggs has no name value he is a quitter who hasn't done anything in ten years. Always out of shape and gets gassed and gives up when he gets tired. Just do not pay briggs for this joke fight. Klitsko has an easy night and watch Briggsie give up again and quit

I've seen lots of articles by Lyle Fitzsimmons saying that the best thing about the IBO is that their rankings are computerised and are therefore unbiased.

boxrec's rankings aren't perfect but they're generally well respected. And they're the only respected independent rankings which list more than just the top 10. The Ring's rankings stop at 10, so do boxingscene's, espn's, and every other independent rankings I know of. So if you want an idea of someone's ranking outside the top 10, boxrec is the only show in town.

What has Briggs done in recent years to be ranked higher than #79 in your opinion?

Haye has become a joke. Vitali is a borderline ATG who is close to retirement. He should not be held to the same standards as a joke like Haye. An ATG who is still not very far from his peak (he's certainly as close to his peak as Lewis was when he fought Tyson and Vitali) should be fighting the best possible competition - especially when he's almost ready to retire, so that he can go out with a ****, and not a whimper.

Can you imagine Lewis ending his career by fighting nobodies who hadn't been ranked in anyone's top 10 for four years (in the case of Briggs) or ever (in the case of Sosnowski)?

Boxrec's point system is meant to scientifically rank fighters in an unbiased manner. I think its on target about 95% of the time but there are definitely some big flaws that come out in the wash. It only recently moved B-Hop down to #4 pfp, whereas it previously had him either #1 or #2 for a very long time. Nothing but respect to B-Hop but he hasn't been in top #5 pfp since he fought Trinidad. Just and example. I agree that Briggs should definitely be higher than #79. I think he's a crap fighter, but I'd say he belongs in top 25 or 30 for sure.

why do they keep fighting garbage opponents?

Id much rather see Adamek in there and dont tell me that fight couldnt be made. So we get Briggs sucking wind standing in front of Vitali all night getting jabbed in the face...oh joy. Hell even Maskaev for god sakes would be better.

Bhop was in The Ring's top 3 P4P until fairly recently, and was their #6 P4P as recently as April, so your criticism there is not so much of computer rankings as such, but of most of the respected P4P rankings out there.

On what basis? His last win against anyone who could credibly be called top 50 was more than 3 years ago.
