Is it fair for a 6'3 tall man to fight a 5'6 man because they're the same weight?

Juan Luis Hernandez and Sharmba Mitchell was 5'7, so what's your point??? P.Will fought them at 147, why is not fair for Pac, who is 5'6.5, to fight him at 147? I don't get it.. Selective reasoning i guess....

It is absolutely fair. What are we going to do, split weight classes between tall and short people; and where is the dividing line? Then there are the wimpy catch-weights that used further diluting things.

No, a weight division is a weight division. No subdividing. That's just ******.

It isn't wrong for them to fight eachother, however...

One thing poeple aren't undersanding here. I'm not saying it is wrong for either one of them to be in the divisions they are in. Rather, one possesses a large advantage in key areas. This is not even, not wrong, but not fair either.

Yes these fights happen from time to time but when they do one fighter possesses a clear advantage over the other. I'm talking about a 9' and 15' advantage here, not 4,5 or even half a foot but a massive 9' with a huge 15' on reach. I'm only addressing whether this is a fair fight. Not if they should be in the same division or not and not if they should fight each other.

If they fight, great, should be interesting. But understand just because you are in the same division does not mean every fight you take is an even one. And when the differences are this apparent, one can see there is a clear advantage.

When one possesses such and advantage things are not even. When things are not even, fairness cannot be had.

what is unfair is a guy who weighs 147 lbs, with 100 lbs being of bone, 30 lbs of organs, and only 17 of muscle fighting a guy with 80 lbs of bone 25 lbs of organs and 42 lbs of muscle. Now thats unfair. PWill givin up 35 lbs of muscle, thats crazy. Manny needs to stop cherrypicking these rail thin dudes and fight a real man.

height and reach can be a weakness. when you slim down too much you begin to sacrifice your natural advantages with the loss of strength and speed.

We've seen Williams at 47 though. He looks good. Very fast with his combos and surprisingly strong. He has very little mass in his midsection. But you are correct, he's obviously giving up something.

Like his 1st loss for starters.

He lost to a 5' 9" southpaw welterweight because he got outboxed and countered.

                    There's no excuses.

Everyone has strengths and everyone has weaknesses.

I understand, but he's been looking slower at 154 IMO and hasn't fought there in quite some time.

I wish Floyd of Manny would fight Pwill, but I know he's wasting his time. He's got $ and fame waiting for him at 154 and 160 and he's wasting time. I think Goosen has done a horrible job promoting Pwill.
