Cliff IMO P4P is clearly the best writer/journalist in the sport right now followed by Jake Danovan... Cliff knowledge of the game and the history is just amazing... Sometimes I wonder how old he is... And, he is very unbiased IMO when he writes. I never get the feeling of any agenda coming from him... Like I said the best writer/journalist in the sport right now...

Saying all that... Your P4P list>Cliff P4P list... Just cuz you have Dawson>P-Will like it should be

I disagree with your take on Wlad obviously. The opposition Wlad faces is perhaps as bad as the opposition faced by Holmes or Louis but Wlad doesn't just win. He wins in such a way that there's no room whatsoever for his opponents to claim any kind of controversy.

Also you mention that Haye and Adamek deserves consideration yet they are both lightyears behind Wlad (and Vitali). You mention that Adamek is the only one who has faced a p4p guy in Dawson, yet Dawson himself hasn't faced any p4p'ers. Only notable wins on his resumé is actually Adamek (drained) and a couple over over-the-hill 40 year olds.
Wlad's worst opp might be as bad as their's, but their best opp is leaps ahead of his IMO. Tim Witherspoon and Ken Norton would laugh through Chagaev's and Ibragimov's. Conn, Baer, Schmeling....Louis had plenty of top tier foes. There are a lot of ways to give Wlad credit and I do. Immense respect for him without seeing him as a P4P top fighter.

Dawson might not have a P4P guy but he's got some very good guys. Tarver was coming off an excellent win over Woods; Johnson is so over the hill no one but Dawson has yet to beat him clean since his loss to Tarver. We'll see if he's that far past it against Cloud. And Adamek is just a hair outside the elite (on my mind) as I've noted. With Pascal, and possibly Bute and Cloud to come, he's got a string of skilled, impressive foes to come and he's shown everything I want to see. He wins multiple ways, has heart for DAYS, and a combination of skill and athleticism which any fighter would love.

Dawson is a Pascal away from 3 and those two could trade back and forth if Will gets and beats Martinez in a rematch for the crown. Right now, I think a red hot Margarito, the Quintana revenge, and narrowly scoring for Will against Martinez is a hair ahead of Dawson.

I agree with Williams over Dawson. It sucks we cant add the Cintron win due to tha fiasco.

I wouldnt say Pascal puts him at 3 only because of the injury. The fight has been pushed back 2-3 times and its clear Pascal is very hurt. Im a Dawson fan and I wish hed be more active or wouldve took a tune up or something. A healthy Pascal, I guess but not this one. Who is injured and inactive.

Holmes beat Norton when he was what 35? After that there wasn't anybody that I'd consider even borderline p4p'ers. Witherspoon? No way. And Holmes went life and death against a complete novice in Carl Williams and so on and so forth. Is Williams better than Povetkin? Who knows.

Louis beat a string of former champions BEFORE he became champion. As a champ he destroyed a slightly past it Schmeling and then nobodies untill he struggled with a LHW (Conn).

I don't expect you to agree with me, but I find it a major omission not having Wlad on the list and not even mentioning him is borderline criminal.

We'll see in the ring...all bets hinge on what is seen. Pascal gives Dawson pretty clear claim as the king at 175 and being the king of a class (and working hard to get there) could give him a modest edge on Williams (for a moment anyways) along with a more complete game IMO.

I think 2 wins over Johnson and Tarver(rematch unnecessary I know) and a dominant win over Adamek who I think is near the elite level also. And, also as a prospect a win over IMO a still solid Eric Harding is not a bad win for at the time green fighter in Dawson... IMO he edges out P-Will in the resume department...

And, then if you just go by skills, same size, same height, same weight all that.... IMO Dawson is the better skillful fighter.

But, cool as long as Dawson is a Pascal win away to get the #3 is all good.

I think the ring title being on the line helps his case. He would be the king of a class but then again outside of Cloud 175 is rather dead. Kind of wish Floyd and Pac would fight and retire already so we can see these guys at the top of the sport.

It would be fun to see Williams and Dawson battling back and forth to be P4P Number 1.

You would give Dawson clear claim as the king at 175 even if Cloud beats Johnson?
