Mayweather did. But that is the past. Both of them deserve credit for their respective wins.

people seem to forget about the lazcano fight and people also forget that floyd wanted to fight ricky when they were both at 140 but ricky and his team said they were not ready for floyd

And? Floyd tried to fight Hatton at his weight 140, but Hatton wasn't "ready". I mean, Hatton had just beat the man at 140, Kostya over in England.

Reason shane lost to vernon was because vernon was just to damn big for Shane.

Hatton at 140 coupled with the fact that his opponent (manny) is smaller than him equals him being at his best. As an athlete of any sport, you want a situation where every advantage is to you and every disadvantage is to your opponent.

And a fully grown fighter doesn't get stronger as he goes up in weight, he only gets fatter and slower. If you're talking about a kid then yeah, he's still growing, but there's a point where you're at your max potential in height and weight that any more weight is just excess weight. 147 is excess weight for Hatton AND Pacquiao. How pac keeps doing it, I don't know.
I would agree if Hatton was fighting a big Guy at 147 like Margarito. WWith Pac and Floyd though you are getting two guys who beat him the same way at either weight. He hydrates up well past 147 in his fights at 140lbs so I doubt cutting less weight has a negative impact. A Guys like Callazo, Floyd, and Pac would trouble Hatton at any weight due to style. Again Floyd did fight the better more sturdy version of Hatton but Pac would have still Koed Hatton sooner if he fought that version.

He was slick enough to cause problems and big enough to not get bullied. If a fighter like that cut weight like Hatton does and fought at that weight it would be similar results. Floyd did fight the better version of Hatton however Pac still KOs any version of Hatton earlier than Floyd due to the contrast in styles.
Don't you think if Collazo could make 140 he would? Most of the 147 guys do cut weight like Hatton did, they just can't make 140 and still feel healthy.

Floyd did because when a fighter loses for the first time, it takes something away from them. Also, too much is made of the weight the fights were made at - by that stage, Hatton was probably glad not to boil down to 140.

However, while I think Floyd has a win over the better version of Hatton, if you try to imagine that same, undefeated Hatton against the Welterweight Pacquaio we see now, I think Hatton would still got KTFO. So you could argue that Floyd simply got their first.

But I'm talking about having advantages. If I were a boxer, I would try to go as low as possible in weight, so when I come in the ring, I'm bigger than my opponent. Hatton, as his best, is when he has THAT advantage over other 140's. Vs mayweather, he doesn't have that advantage, so he can't be considered at his best.

mayweather, I think, has been doing this for a long time. Picking guys who he has a youth and physical advantage over.
