To be fair he was almost stopped by Juan Lazcano at 140.

That's a fu_ckin over statement lol. he didnt even knock him down.

I cant see how the Hatton that fought Floyd is any better than pac kayoed.

Hatton wasnt impressive at ALL @147 he clearly didnt belong in there. Him having some moments againts Floyd was due to Floyd's Defense 1st style that gave Hatton some opportunities to do something.

Againts an Offensive fighter like Pac Hatton is all meat at any version. Hatton was even coming off a very impressive win over Gaynilaggi.

Daggum, I see you use sarcasm in some of your posts so not sure if that's what you just did.

Marquez was at his prime against Pacquaio fights. Actually some Pac haters also resent that he waited so long for the rematch since Marquez was older in the second fight. So imagine that against Floyd, Marquez was 36.

It's not about how good you feel at that weight. It's really about what can you do to your opponent effectively at that weight. Just like Hatton, he could not become champion at 147 but he was able to do it at the lower weights.

          - At 147 they both lost some of their speed.
          - At 147 they both looked more sluggish.
          - At 147 they both lost size advantage big time to their opponent (Floyd).
          - At 147 Hatton fought once before and struggled while Marquez jumped 2 weight classes and never fought at 147 before fighting Floyd.
          - At 147 they both were not able to bring the power to have their opponents respect them.

Their records are all you need to know where Hatton and Marquez belonged. Certainly, not at 147....... Both got titles at other lower weight divisions.

Naw Hatton was out on his feet and the ref stopped the action so he could tie his shoes.

He wasnt impressive in either fight. Floyd-Hatton gets the nod because he atleast looked healthy and strong.

This is very true, Hatton was undefeated in the 140 lbs. Nobody can beat him at Jr welterweight except for Pacquiao.

He didnt hit the canvass he was not "almost stopped"

He looked healthy and strong to some because Floyd waited for him to attack.

He looked healthy and strong againts Pac until the KO.

hatton fights at 140 for a reason. hatton is much bigger and stronger than his 140 pound opponents. when he moves up to 147 he loses all his advantages and becomes impotent. just like when julio cesar chavez tried to move up to welterweight. he never had any success but he was a killer at 140.
