He is certainly capable. I'm not saying he will for sure, but can definitely do it. Styles make fights. Cotto can use that beautiful jab and superior timing to offset Martinez. Like another poster said, Cintron hung in there with him, and Cotto is a far better boxer than him. Cotto is an elite fighter. He's not some pushover. I don't know why people don't give him a chance at all. To me it's a toss up fight, but Cotto certainly has the skill set to pull it off.

Like I said , for Martinez to win , he is going to have to eat Cottos shots both to the body and the face and pressure all night , If he doesnt do that , I can see a decision for Cotto , The fight needs to happen , we can debate all day. But honestly u sit back on some dumb ideas.

Whos chin would you take also , Cottos or Cintrons. How bout boxing ability. Common man dont be blind , Cotto is better than cintron in almost every department reach and height dont always win fights. And as for power I do believe the same thing as you , but is just what I believe , because , how can it be proven???

DOnt get me wrong man Ill take Cotto over Cintron all day
I was refering to Cintrons power over Cottos
if martinez handled Cintrons power he will have no problem with Cottos
Cotto is going to eat a lot of punches

trust me he will get handled by Martinez
Cotto has been in too many wars
Cotto goes to sleep in 9

and i love Cotto but I think his best days are behind him
the margs lost killed him both physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally and every other way

You may be right but Martinez style is perfect for Cotto to look good Martinez is a mover like I said if Cotto times him it's over. Cotto doesn't know how to fight going backwards and he won't have against Martinez. EVEN SLOW ASS PAVLIK WAS TIMING MARTINEZ COMING IN UNTIL THE CUT OPENED.

Martinez is hard to time. He comes in from really odd angles. He's also really athletic but very unorthodox. I think this is why his fights are so close.

I noticed that and i understand that but I think Martinez is too much for Cotto
I noticed that once Yuri started to let his hand go he tagged Cotto with that straight right hand at will

                  Cotto gets hit too much
he had a good outing against Yuri and walked through his punches but maybe because he knew Yuri was feather fisted

I noticed that Sergio likes to take rounds off and kinda mess around and get hit as if to prove to us viewers that he can take a punch.

It would be a nice figth to see

I did like what I saw in Cotto
and that was just one fight with Webster
