its funny how people think that only floyd and pac are the only relevant fighters the entire ****ing decade... pac and floyd havent even won a single FOTY award more then half way the decade...

    2000 -- Felix Trinidad
    2001 -- Bernard Hopkins
    2002 -- Vernon Forrest
    2003 -- James Toney
    2004 -- Glen Johnson

Nothing matters except who ppv buys anymore. Too many belts and too much politics.
Didn't mean to nitpick sir but Floyd was the one who said title belts only collect dust, legacy don't pay bills and is the one obsessed with PPV buys.

Could the BWAA saw this as something they can count against Floyd? Maybe so. If it is, then Pacquiao deserved it more.

Mayweather was clever with that one. I bet he also meant it as a sleight to Pacquiao too, lol.

Pacquiao is the fighter of the year. Mayweather is the fighter of the decade.

If that's the case (doing it in spite of Pac) then he should not be bitter and bitchin' about why Pac deserved to get the FOTD when he don't care about legacy then ain't it?

Floyd was P4P#1 between 2003 to 2007. But Pac was already making a headway in displacing him in that spot as early as 2006. Its just that Floyd has not lost yet despite the perceived ducking of tough competition in LWW and WW, and Pac's series of big wins against Barrera, Morales, and Marquez. And then Floyd had a great year in 2007 so it silence the critics for a moment. But then made a boner move of retiring instead of totally shutting out the criticisms against him.

So its ****** to think that Floyd was dominating the competition since him and Pac were constantly #1 and #2 in the list as early as 2006. And both of them were in the P4P list since 2003.

Tbf, he should have won it in 2001.

Having said that, should never have won it in 2007.

It's true though belts don't mean anything when there are too many of them. Did Floyd lie when he said that? The big dogs don't need a belt everybody know that Manny and Pac are the best at WW belt or no belt. Or do you think Berto and Zaveck are on the same level lol. Respectfully in my opinion the multiple titles, commissions, and organizations need to be merged into one national entity. So there can be no more ducking. There should be 1 world champ everybody else should be contenders in a ladder system.

                    Exactly mate!

That's why I don't get it why Floyd bashes Pac winning FOTD saying Pac got beaten by Morales, and he sayin' he don't need nothing to prove he's the best.

If awards mean nothing to him then he can't ***** about a fighter getting FOTD, ain't he?

Good point. Some people can only see in black and white. Fact of the matter is on most of these years the difference between pac and floyd's quality of fights is a minor edge. Also in this breakdown, Pac fighting trilogies with MAB and EM affect him negatively when it should do the opposite.
