Manny is fresh in everyone's minds for the DLH beatdown, Hatton destruction, and Cotto dismantling. Taken year by year, there's no doubt Mayweather's dominance was more profound throughout the decade.

But in the world of "what have you done for me lately?"....

This here shows you how biased not only the boxing writers are but fans also. there is no way in a decade a fighter can be beaten at least three times and another hasnt come close except for the first corrales fight and he still cant get his props. This is the way of the world. Floyd called out wimky and he got crucified for it. Pac called out Foreman and then recanted by saying hes to tall. Not a word was said. Marquez third fight clear ducking nothing said. He had good fighters at 140 who would have to be weight drained like bradley, alexander, petersen, marquez, campbell, holt, torress and many other jr ww but no one said a thing. Floyd didnt fight margarito, cotto and the world went crazy. To be frank there no bleeping way Pac was fighter of the decade.

as much fun as it is to argue about which fighters were shot, weightdrained, tailor-made, which fighters were robbed, which fighters were supposed to beat pac, which fighters were supposed to win in fantasy fights, or which fighters were a bigger draw with you burner, i'll try to keep this short.

do you think they decide the fighter of the decade based on just by tallying the past winners and counting their respective foty awards? it's the whole body of work one has done the entire decade. it doesn't matter if most of those achievements were done in a span of a few years, or if they were spread out throughout the decade, you get the same amount of brownie points for those.

2000: Floyd beat Emmanuel Augutsus. Pac beat some dude named Kon-Chae and in the Hussein fight was almost KO'd by a jab.

2001: Pac had 4 scraps was very active. However his best win was against Ledwaba. Floyd beat P4Pounder Diego Corralles and Jesus Chavez.

2002: Floyd beat Castillo twice. Pac beat Jorge Eliecer Julio and Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym.

2003: You have to give to Pac for the MAB win.

In 2004: Floyd beat Chop Chop. Pac had a draw with JMM and beat 3K.

2005: I gave 05 to Floyd because Manny lost a fight, to a past it Morales nontheless.

2006: Floyd beat Judah and Baldomir 2 out of 3 of the Top WW's and won the 147 Lineal Title. In that same year Pac beat a shot Morales twice and beat Oscar Larios.

2007: Floyd beat Oscar and Hatton. Pac beat a shot MAB and Solis.

2008: Floyd was retired.

2009: Floyd beat JMM in a tune up. Pac had Cotto. He gett that year.

Year by year its interesting.

2003: Floyd fights Sosa in a typical, ho-hum type fight after two hard ones; follows with N'Dou, a Jr. Lightweight who was rated tenth at 130 by Ring at the time in another ho-hum outing; Manny routs a future HOFer in Barrera for the Feather crown. Edge = Pac

2004: Pac draws with a future HOFer in Marquez, Floyd fights once against Corley and has a fun win. the fact PAC dropped JMM 3 times in the 1st rd and got a draw is a detraction for me. I understand the point about him being a future HOFer, but I can’t give him the edge in 04 for essentially losing a fight to JMM. Edge = Floyd

(Also coupled with the fact hatton defeated tzyu and was unwilling to fight Floyd at the time and cotto wasn’t ready as well.) pacquiao losing to Morales just doesn’t trump Floyd wining against gatti and receiving another belt in another division. 2001 and 2002 are Floyd's dominant years in terms of competition. You may want to add 2007 as well. But I consider 2007 more of a year when Floyd burst out in the mainstream which also makes it his most profitable year.

2003 is definitely for Pac. It was the year he got his status as one of the sport's rising stars after an upset win over then P4P#3 Barrera.

Floyd had only one fight in 2004 so you cant give that year for him. Pac fought a prime JMM to a draw in what consider to be a contender for fight of the year. It certainly trumphs his win over a good Corley, who in my opinion is nothing more than a tune-up. Pac also had a tune-up against Fahsan so that already offsets Floyd's win against Chop Chop.

If you gave 2005 to Floyd, I wouldn't object although you have to consider that Pac was also in a FOTY against Morales even though he lost. But if you put more weight on Floyd's win against Gatti over Pac's loss in a FOTY against Morales then its reasonable as well.

Giving 2006 to Floyd is just ******ed since Pac was fighter of the year (BWAA and Ring) in 2006 with his two victories against Morales. Most boxing writers were already even considering in moving him up to P4P#1 status in that time due to Floyd's recent competition in 2005 and 2006, where people perceived that it was the time he started cherry picking his opponents.

2007 - this year definitely belongs to Floyd

2008/2009 - Floyd retired and inactive so you have to give that to Pac. It is also the year when Pac burst out in the mainstream, and his most profitable years.

Floyd was fighter of the year in 2002 and 2007.

How can you give only 3 years to Pac when he was already awarded fighter of the year 3 times, which meant he was the best in terms of competitions in those years. You have to add 2004 and 2003 because clearly Pac edged Floyd in those years.

If you gave 2005 to Floyd I wont mind. So at best Floyd can only get a draw against Pac if you want to break it down year per year.
