Who "won" that year in your eyes?

    I go like this:

    2000- Floyd
    2001- Floyd
    2002- Floyd

    2003- Pac
    2004- Floyd
    2005- Floyd
    2006- Floyd
    2007- Floyd

    2008- Pac
    2009-Pac

2000: Floyd beat Emmanuel Augutsus. Pac beat some dude named Kon-Chae and in the Hussein fight was almost KO'd by a jab.

2001: Pac had 4 scraps was very active. However his best win was against Ledwaba. Floyd beat P4Pounder Diego Corralles and Jesus Chavez.

2002: Floyd beat Castillo twice. Pac beat Jorge Eliecer Julio and Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym.

2003: You have to give to Pac for the MAB win.

In 2004: Floyd beat Chop Chop. Pac had a draw with JMM and beat 3K.

2005: I gave 05 to Floyd because Manny lost a fight, to a past it Morales nontheless.

2006: Floyd beat Judah and Baldomir 2 out of 3 of the Top WW's and won the 147 Lineal Title. In that same year Pac beat a shot Morales twice and beat Oscar Larios.

2007: Floyd beat Oscar and Hatton. Pac beat a shot MAB and Solis.

    2008: Floyd was retired.

2009: Floyd beat JMM in a tune up. Pac had Cotto. He gett that year.

    Year by year its interesting.
props for the effort... or should i say nuthugging?

if floyd did not 'retired' or 'ducked' during those years, i sure am a *****... but what happened was an asian midget thrilled all types of boxing fans during his fights.

i pitty you for not being included to those who voted for the FOTD... they were the experts, not US...

Overall an argument can be made for both fighters.IMO Floyd has been fighting on a bigger stage longer and is still undefeated. On the other hand Pac has 7 championships in 7 different weight classes their is something to be said about that.I would have gave fighter of the decade to Floyd but I'm not mad that Manny got it he deserved it as well.

The same as usual. All these *****s don't know how many years in one decade. 1 decade = 10 years. Floyd retired (he faked his retirement to avoid Margarito, prime Mosley and Cotto) for 2 years - 10 years = 8 years. Should Floyd deserved to be fighter of the decade when he only fought for 8 years?

It's funny people forgot that bit.
LOL u cant be sure of that,

maybe floyd will fight cherry picked opponent during 2008-2009

he retired coz he doesnt want to fight cotto, margarito, or mosley at that time

he doesnt want to fight those risky fights, it will take away his 0

u cant reward someone the fighter of the decade reward if cherry picking opponents LOL

and just a question who would have floyd fought during 2008-2009 if he didnt retire that will make him deserving for that reward?

cotto? isnt he the reason why he retire?

I would liken it to any of the academy awards for films and so forth. Many times they leave you scratchin' yer head. Same here. Clearly Pacquiao has had great performances...but for the whole decade? Kaaaaay...

2004 is the only toss up.

The big dogs don't need a belt everybody know that Manny and Pac are the best at WW belt or no belt. Or do you think Berto and Zaveck are on the same level lol. Respectfully in my opinion the multiple titles, commissions, and organizations need to be merged into one national entity. So there can be no more ducking. There should be 1 world champ everybody else should be contenders in a ladder system.
in a perfect world all us fans want to have something like that ...

but should it be international entity? unless the US will fund a national governing body for boxing, then that would be great!

You don't have to dominate each one year of the decade to be FOTD. Floyd only fought 8 years on this decade. Certainly he can't be fighter of the decade. 1 decade = 10 years not 8 years. Simple.

That's alltogether a different story on what could've been if he didn't retire. So that's correct, we're not sure of anything other that what was true, that he retired. Had his chances.
