Also, I believe Williams already faced guys with more power than Floyd so he will be used to it unlike some of Floyd's bloated lightweight opponents.
Come on, Winky was coming off of a long layoff and sat in his shell all night, and Quintana is nowhere NEAR the level of Floyd (yet he did beat Williams the first time). Martinez on the other hand gave Williams a lot of problems and made it a very close fight because Williams' punches weren't going anywhere and he was paying for his mistakes all night. Floyd is a better boxer than Martinez, so I can really see him breaking P.Will down and winning a decision.

just go back to the diego corrales (R.I.P.) fight. he was throwing tons of punches from all kinds of angles. Eventually he stopped diego.

now look at the dlh fight. floyd barely threw any punches at all and the fight went to a split decision. if floyd just let his hands go more, he would've won by a wider margin.

Its sad to see such a great boxer reduce his workrate and become a boring boxer. Floyd was at his best at 130 lbs. He was a spectacular boxer then. At 130 lbs, without reducing his punch output, he could've stopped JMM.

Floyd needs to get his punch stats up. that's a glaring whole in his game.

Well as you may or may not no, not everyone uses PED's as they come up in weight. Floyd's power, workrate, and handspeed reduced as he came up in weight because he worked his ass off naturally, no special milkshakes or nothing.

Now that you mention it...when I saw the stats in HBO, higher the weight classes...higher workrate??!!, same power & speed!!! WTF

Not saying he's on to something, but are there other boxers that have done the same??

This thread is dumb, since Mayweather moved up from 130lbs he has out been out landed once in a fight and that was against Castillo in the first fight. No other fighter has out landed him BUT they all out throw him.

Are you insinuating that Mayweather sucks because he is able to throw less than his opponents, land at a higher percentage and receive less punishment?

am sure there's an interview of him saying whats the point of throwing 5 punches if only 1 or 2 land or something along those lines

Whether you think his stats are up or down, he wins. You picked fights against Chico and Dlh. Two different fights. Dlh could box where Chico couldn't. The last fight is what counts. Floyd will be active against anyone who comes at him.

The punch stats in that fight lied to fans...

The punch stats say that he's the most accurate puncher in the sport. How can you turn this into a negative thing?

Does punch stats even matter when you're throwing 400-500 punches and only 15-17% are landing?

Floyd can turn it up, no doubt.
