At this point, I can't see Pavlik winning against Lucian Bute. Not only did Lucian Bute KO Andrade which nobody had done before but he is getting better and better each time out. Pavlik is a good/solid fighter who capitalized on Edison Miranda and Jermain Taylor but world class he is not. I wouldn't be surprised if Lucian Bute knocks him out with one of those brutal uppercuts that Pavlik would never see coming...
i can't see it ending any other way. he had a good chin at middleweight but bute would tee off on him with those long arms and fast hands. pavlik would go down eventually.
I can't stand Pavlik, mostly because of the hype, but it would be amusing if he somehow knocked Bute out and once again became "the best thing since sliced bread" as Bob Arum clearly would've had everyone believe before he lost to Hopkins.
That said, I think Bute wins by UD.
pavlik beating, scratch that, demolished jermain taylor, the middleweight champ who beat a legendary prime bernard hopkins, then ud'd him in a rematch..
that really is not hype.
he then got schooled by hopkins then another boxer in sergio.
he gave sergio a great fight and even was winning midfight until sergio took the last rounds with vigor.
its not like pavlik is getting knocked out by tomato cans...
well Bute isnt faster, slicker or a harder puncher then martinez. so i dont see how it could be a knock out and pavlik got his face beat in from round 9 to 12
It would be better if Pavlik had a confidence-builder against a clubfighter at 168 first.
Good fight for the fall of 2010.
yeah he does need to a tune-up but then again why when he just had a very good tuning up against Sergio Martinez and he ain't getting any hungrier. Might as well get another payday
Pav needs to get a good confidence booster at 168, say against Brinkley, then get schooled by bute .u got to have a W first before getting at someone who is least a top 3 smw..
