He could be just favored against mayweather if they ever fought. judging from the early lines from vegas mayweather opened 2-1 when manny beat hatton & cotto & the anticipation of a clash vs mayweather. Come fight night depending on the hype throughout the build up & how floyd looks vs shane, Pac could very well be favored.

floyd & manny even though they are now in the same division, i personally dont feel pacquiao is a real welterweight. I thought he was already pushing it at 140. manny started at 106 floyd at 130. that's a big difference. this whole p4p classification was made on the hypothetical match between both fighters if they were the same size & its decided by resume, skill, activity, caliber of opponents fought & just a overall body of work. obviously pacquiao & mayweather are not the same size so you have to put the other intangibles in play to decide the rankings.

If both fighters were the same size i would favor pacquiao. but they are not.

This is a bit of a stretch. There is no material size difference between the two IMO. Both have been fighting at WW for some time and have established themselves at that weight. They are both Welters.

              By decision, no.
              By knockout, yes.

How is that? Floyd started at 130. pac at 106. Floyd's highest weight in which he won a title was 154. manny at 147. Floyd has how many fights at 147 compared to how many fights manny has above 130? Floyd is 5'8 w/ a 72 inch reach vs manny who is 5'6 with a 67 inch reach.

Manny has yet to weigh in at 147 lbs for his 3 (2 if you take out the oscar fight) welterweight fights. Manny just got to the division in 08, 09. Floyds been in the division since 2005.

How does that compute to being the same size & been in the same division the same time?

When I am assessing two fighters on a p4p basis I look at where they are at right now, not where they started in the 90s, not where they were at in 2005, not 5 fights ago. We are not assessing their careers p4p here, we are assessing where they should be ranked RIGHT NOW. Therefore, given that they are both currently well and truly established as 147 pounders they are, for the purpose of this assessment, the same size.

They are in the same division but not the same size.
