being flatfooted makes you a sitting duck against a fighter who uses their legs..its becoming a trend
Ali started the trend. Some might say Robinson but even he brawled a fair bit.

Flatfooted style is yesterday's news but it can still work if you can take one hell of a punch, multiple punches at that and still fight...... ala Margarito and Carl Froch.
I agree with this but you always need to be able to let your hands go, (Margarito and Froch) both do this... Pavlik looked ****** chasing Sergio around the ring not throwing to the body

you can be an excellent boxer and not run
Devon Alexander is a good example, terrific boxer who elects not to run all the time.

Where as someone like Mayweather is a runner, just look at him fight Boldimor. It was pretty awful.

Pavlik had figured Martinez out and was taking over the fight till the cuts got serious. It wasn't Sergio's footwork that won him the fight, but it did keep hjim in it. That said, cuts are a part of boxing and Martinez was the better man the other night. If there's a rematch I'll take Pavlik.

There's a reason why the ring is the size that it is, otherwise it'd be a 2x2 ring.
