What is so exciting about backing up with blood all over your face and barely throwing anything just because you're clearly ahead (Cotto and De La Hoya, well DLH didn't have blood) while the other fighter chases you around? I'll give you Martinez, but even with that, you changed the subject. How did we go from "running" to "exciting"? Bottom line is, Floyd doesn't run. If he runs, then so does Martinez and all of the other slick boxers who slip punches.[/QUOTE]

do you actually believe that floyd is more exciting than cotto or hoya?......lol

being flatfooted makes you a sitting duck against a fighter who uses their legs..its becoming a trend
who were you referring to in the pac fights? coz what martinez did was a lil bit different from pac. pac isnt flatfooted but definitely don't run away, unlike what sergio did in some rounds.

You're the one who brought being exciting up. I never said Floyd was more exciting. Obviously a guy like Cotto would make a more exciting fight to the general audience because of his pressure and power, and only fans of defensive styles would say otherwise. My point is that what Floyd does is not running. If you're actually throwing punches and outlanding the opponent, I don't see how its running. Using your footwork to avoid punches is a good technique, and like half of the p4p kings in history have done that. If anything, Floyd is a more flatfooted fighter now. He fights more like Sweet Pea, as shown in his last two fights. He showed a lot more jabbing, slipping, ducking, body punching and counter punching as opposed to potshotting.

this quote shows once again how new u are to the sport of boxing. first of all theres a diffrence between running and moving like larryx pointed out, floyd moves.. but that isnt the point, the point is lateral movement has been a part of boxing a LONG time.

pep, ali, robinson etc were all movers, and they are all top10 ATGs who fought in eras way back.

so no, moving didnt use to be called cowardice, it is and always has been SKILL. hitting without getting hit, the art of boxing in other words. stick to watching rocky movies kid.

your right, running is running. good for you

but how would u explain it? truth is running is simply trying to stay away from your oponent, avoiding all contact. nobody can win a fight running.

moving is using your legs to avoid your oponents punches but landing punches of your own, its a way to box.. as in BOXing. boxing is about hitting without being hit, your legs are a way of doing so.

I wouldn't say Cotto since he started backing off in the 2nd half of the fight trying to box and move.
