I was watching Teddy Atlas go over the strategy for Shane Mosley & Floyd Mayweather and noticed he said (as many have on here) that Mayweather will look to counter Mosley's jab with the right. I think everyone realizes this...including Mosley himself and ****m Richardson. I suspect that they will be looking to roll off the right and counter with their own. Extremely tough to do because Floyd's counter right is so quick and punishing.
Which leads to my second point. Shane Mosley's jab isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Folks, he's been using that jab throughout a career which, at point, was a glistening 38-0. You don't become the best fighter in the world using a bad jab. Maybe no jab, but not a bad one. .
I like your post, but i disagree with this particular point.
So Floyd thinks there is a blueprint to beat Mosley because he has 5 losses. Floyd is talking trash again. Mosley has taken on the tougher challenges by far.
When I first watched the Cotto fight. I thought Mosley won, and was surprised that he didn't ***** about the decision more than he did. So I went back to the fight and watched again, and I am even more convinced that Mosley won that fight. I even think he won with a greater margin of victory than PBF had against DeLahoya. Even though the judges gave it to Cotto on a unanimous decision.
Mosley fought Cotto when he was undefeated and perceived as a very powerful and important welterweight champion. I think the decision was shaded toward Cotto because of that perception.
On the other hand, PBF fought DeLaHoya after he had lost on a TKO to Bernard Hopkins and was perceived to be on the downside of his career.
Mosley stepped up and took on Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright, fighters who were naturally bigger and in Forrest's case, stronger, when these fighters were on a winning streak. He took them on their best. That is what I love about Mosley. He has the integrity to try a fighter at their peak.
Floyd likes to face a fighter coming off a loss or with a size disadvantage. Or he doesn't face them at all. In the last 5-7 years of his career that has been the case.
His fans have been fooled by these transparent tactics.
Mosley has never come close to being dominated by a fighter his size. In fact I would say he has beaten everyone his size, including Cotto. Floyd isn't going to dominate Mosley. I'm glad Floyd and his fans are overconfident. That will make the victory by Mosley even sweeter.
I think this could be the fight too. It was always Mosley, I guess. Honestly, people are saying this fight should've happened 5-10 years ago but I'd pick Floyd to beat any other version of Shane a lot easier than I do this. A younger Floyd had too much legs and might've made it look easy.
agree....at 135 he would fight Shane the way he did Castillo in the second fight........i think at this weight Shane can make him engage more than he would have been able to at 35.

Dude, you have to let go of your jealousy of Floyd.
So, if Floyd soundly beats Shane, you can't back off your statements. OK? You can't have it both ways.

Jealousy is not the word. The is nothing about Floyd that I would choose to emulate. I don't particulary like him. But I don't think I hate him either. Although you "love" him or like him a lot, I guess.
No my man. I'm definitely not backing off my statements. I have integrity. What will you do, if proven wrong?
My take on this fight goes like this we are going to see a different Shane Mosley.I believe alot of people feel shane is like Hatton and will try to rush May.But I see Shane doing everything boxing and puttimg pressure at the same time.Thing so many people forget is Shane can box and will be putting this to good use on May 1.people Want to bring up Mosley loses so lets take a look at umm.1 lost to Forest was just a bad match up with a real tall rangy boxer who I like many feel like just had Mosleys number. The first fight Shane never got into the grove of the fight an flat out lost. The second fight I had a draw which in it self lets you know the man can box.Wright was a case of another bad Match up a big rangy fight with a long jab.I seen Cotto in a close fight with Shane and had Shane pulling it out.I feel Mosley workrate and combo punching will be the differance Mosley SD or late stopping the unstopable.
I hope that Mosley comes in sharp and able to test Floyd. I'd like Mosley to win but as long as he comes in and looks sharp I will be happy as long as the better man wins.
I thought DLH really tested Floyd (in fact I had DLH winning) but was happy to see a really competitive fight.
My biggest fear is an old Mosley coming to the ring. That won't help anyone least of all Floyd.
