I put in another post that I really can't argue to much about if he try to make the fight or not because I never heard anything about any talk's or negotiation.But you have to admit it does matter when I'll give you and example(I think I told you this before).David Reid good fight and had a future put in the ring with an ELITE fighter to early ended his career.It always matter's when you take that step up you should not wait forever but Cotto was too green.

I gotta agree with Grus here. Cotto was a bit bigger but not much better at 147. The main thing is he was challenged by PBF twice and on both occasions team Cotto turned him down and unlike Reid he wasn't 14-0 going on a suicide mission against Trinidad. He was like 25/26-0 around that time. Not long after (like 3 or 4 fights against guys that didnt necessarily make him better) he was at welter. So the theory of him being so green has holes in it. They just didnt want none of Floyd.

I have to stand by what I said I felt the perfect time for them to fight was when Cotto beat mosley(He was more of a name at that point)and May beat Hatton.I don't know about May challenging Cotto or nothing like that (Not saying it's not true)so I can't debate it.It just felt right you know.Welp May first is what's upon us and it can not come soon enough.
