i honestly dont agree with completely dismissing pacquiaos career... every fighter has to make choices regarding risks & rewards. but lets get real, manny is NOT the worst offender. everyone likes to bring the laundry list of fighters in lightweight & jr welter manny supposedly "ducked"... but name them? nate campbell? casamayor? please.... why do people expect manny to have cleaned out the 3 weightclasses he was briefly in during his transition to WW. this one guy in this forum claims its some racist conspiracy. LOL. who else did manny duck? all the same fighters floyd didnt fight...
BUT, he fought cotto & clottey. on paper, thats more impressive than floyds WW victories with judah & baldomir... as for catchweights, its part of the sport... if floyd was fighting p-will, martinez, or andre ward, i wouldnt criticize him for requesting a catchweight... i give him respect for moving up and fighting the bigger man.

as for floyd, he retired when the WW division was STACKED... there was plenty of fighters for him to dominate to PROVE his greatness (p-will, cotto, margarito, shane, etc.)... there was absolutely no REASON for floyd to retire... dont forget, boxing fans were ACHING to see those fights... he basically retired and waited for them to fight each other... then came back and called out manny. and once that fell through, the only WW left standing was shane.... a fight he shouldve had before. sh**, im sure p-will will drop weight if floyd wants to dance. but i totally agree with you that floyds skills deserve respect. but by perfecting a defensive style, floyd will always have people wanting more from him.

like i continually say, im a fan of both... when floyd fights, its pure artistry... when pac fights, youre left with chills. they both deserve respect.
i just dont understand the bashing from both fanboy parties... the bickering and nit-picking by both camps kill me. ive had my share of debates with "*******s" & "*****s".

Lets look at Marciano (who fought before they made Lacy type fighters fight in mega fights to make some else look good on their 0. Out of Marciano's 49 opponents ONLY 19 CAME OFF A WIN BEFORE FIGHTING HIM. I'm not counting those who had tuneups prior to the fights. He's no ATG as isn't Calzaghe an HoF. My 2 cents. Sorry if this offends you, I don't want to sound like a troll but that's what i think. You can be fooled only if you want.

LOL!! I said Old Oscar not old Corrales. Corrales was young and undefeated, true but who the fuck is he? Like JLC and Gatti.....he won't touch a HOF status. The only HOF Floyd fought is Oscar and Marquez.

Believe me....once that 0 turns to a 1....his supposedly "top 40" ATG status will come crashing down to the 80's -100's. Some one mentioned here about winning 5 titles in different division. I apologize that I had forgotten about that. That should still carry Floyd in the top 100 ATG list.

In the NFL why do they always call the last unbeaten team the best? Why is it such a big deal then? You guys just like to pick at floyd for everything he does or says. When the Patriots we're going for the undefeated season most people we're rooting them on except for "haters" and the same with Floyd. As a boxing fan why wouldn't you want an undefeated fighter? It's good for the sport. I just don't understand you guys man.
compelling fights the public demands is good for the sport. not unbeaten records. frankly, i dont care about unbeaten records... dont act like floyd cleared out the welterweight division and remained unbeaten... there were PLENTY of fights the boxing public demanded for. there were definitely enough fights for him to PROVE his greatness (p-will, margarito, cotto, shane)... at the moment, shane & manny cleaned out the division (margarito, cotto, clottey)... only ranked fighters left is berto, collazo, etc.

there is no questioning floyds unmatched skills and ring IQ, but please dont act like floyd hasnt left us wanting more from him.

But along came Mosley and Pac's decision turned around and bit him in the ass! They thought Mayweather wouldn't sign the contract as a matter of fact it was Roach just 2 or 3 days before Mayweather signed saying that mayweather wouldn't sign to fight Shane. And ever since they've been talkin about how bad they want Mayweather in the Ring hah. I'm not buyin it. They tried to screw him but it backfired and now they're trying to save their asses!

earthquake or not...i guarantee you Berto got some "step-aside" money!!!
