Look team Pac tried to screw Mayweather by cutting off negotiations and quickly signing on to Clottey. Because they figured Mayweather would have noone to fight except for maybe m. hatton or malignaggi or someone he'd get no credit for. But along came Mosley and Pac's decision turned around and bit him in the ass! They thought Mayweather wouldn't sign the contract as a matter of fact it was Roach just 2 or 3 days before Mayweather signed saying that mayweather wouldn't sign to fight Shane. And ever since they've been talkin about how bad they want Mayweather in the Ring hah. I'm not buyin it. They tried to screw him but it backfired and now they're trying to save their asses!

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen here. Nobody in boxing has to take a fight if they don't want it. And that has been proven time and time again in the history of boxing. This notion that Mayweather took a fight he didn't want is absurd. Mayweather had other options but Mosley was always plan B and that was stated by his team even before the Pacquiao negotiations broke down. I don't understand this need to rewrite history.

"Calzaghe certainly fought the best available opposition as did Marciano" Must be a joke.

Lets look at Marciano (who fought before they made Lacy type fighters fight in mega fights to make some else look good on their 0. Out of Marciano's 49 opponents ONLY 19 CAME OFF A WIN BEFORE FIGHTING HIM. I'm not counting those who had tuneups prior to the fights. He's no ATG as isn't Calzaghe an HoF. My 2 cents. Sorry if this offends you, I don't want to sound like a troll but that's what i think. You can be fooled only if you want.

Mayweather jumped on the opportunity to fight Shane because
Shane was the 2nd biggest fight after Pacquiao. Prior to the
negotiations falling through with Pac, Floyd hadn't even announced
who he was going to fight, only speculations and names were thrown
out that weren't confirmed. At one point, Team Mayweather was
hinting that Floyd may wait for a later date to return because I
think he was eyeing the winner of Berto/Mosley. Even Pac was
thinking about fighting Malignaggi at one point and Pauli was
dogging Pac. Seriously though, Floyd is about his paper and
that is what he wants. Why would a guy who was raised in
an all boxing family and fought 40 times, be scared to fight
someone he chased up to 147 in his prime, 10 years later?
I don't get people saying Floyd is scared to lose considering
he could of lost several times in them 40 fights especially
            when he was at 130/135.
good post grust. these people dont seem to understand the fight game. this guy laughed at floyd for paulie being mentioned as a possible opponet. but they fail to laugh at pac for the same reason. they forget floyd chased shane up two wt classes trying to get a fight with him, they forget on live hbo shane said he wouldnt fight floyd as a next opponet because he had a tooth ache. the hate floyd receives is unbelievable. they just dont get it and i fear we are wasting our time trying to help them understand. some of them dont even want to have intellengent debate they just want to hate on floyd and be evil on this site. its very sad grown men can act in such a manner.

very good post tweezy. very true post. but they were actually negotiating with clottey as they were pretending to negotiate with floyd. and they had several chances to sign a fight with shane but admitted they were afraid of shane and flat out ducked him and hands down turned shane down to his face. so before pac fans start talking about floyd being pushed into a corner i wish someone would push pac into a corner so he can fight an opponet thats not wt drained or ready for the nursing home.

i feel the same way also. marciano got credit for beating up guys that had to use a wheelchair to get to the ring. guys that would have handed him his head in their younger days. not hating on the rock just stating the facts, just the facts.

oh come on amay, floyd could have made 10 mil fighting anybody easy.he made 30 mil fighting marquez as his cut of the 1,5mil ppvs made him a handsome payday. floyd said he is going to clean out the ww division. so it has began.

But I bet you don't feel that was greedy huh? I bet you thought he did clottey a favor huh? You're just another biased fan boy.
and it was pac that took 250,000 as a signing bonus from DLH to fight for GBP only to turn two faced and sign with bob arum. then refuse to give back the 250k and have to be forced by a court of law to give a % of all his fights to GBP and arum. so when fans call him a billionare they dont know what they are talking about.
