but its pretty obvious, generally speaking, compared to ALL-TIME greats (ray robinson, henry armstrong, ali, pep, louis, leonard, duran, hagler, etc.), based off of accomplishments and impact made in boxing there is NO WAY floyd should be mentioned ATG. not even close... he is one of the most talented boxers of his ERA, but not all-time... his style and approach to the sport caters only to boxing purists.... the same purists that loved pernell whitaker.

and no, i dont think pac should be considered ATG either... but his approach and impact on the sport definitely puts him in a BETTER position for consideration once he retires... plus, whether you agree with it or not, historians will look back at manny's career and it will look more impressive.
bert sugar is one of those historians, and he has more authority on the subject than any of us here on this forum.
while i like this post i just disagree with your assessment of pacs career. pac has avoided so many fighters its not funny. and the fighters he did beat he put stipulations on the fighter that gave him the edge. like making oscar come down to 147 or roach saying if they fought shane it would have to be at 142. and totally avoiding fighters that can box and move. so as a purist from the great boxing city of detroit i do love floyd and sweet peas style. but i love all styles of boxing i just hate to see one guy get raked over the coals for one thing and another guy gets lauded as the greatest for the same thing.

Totally agree Mr J. It's crazy how Pac is allowed so much BS.

theres plenty of tapes/interviews of floyd validating his career with his record.

boxing fans admire and respect floyd's ring IQ and athleticism...
only fanboys beat the drums for the 40-0 rubbish.
frankly, an undefeated record is meaningless compared to a career filled with memorable fights with elite fighters...

calzaghe could claim the same accolade as floyd... but calzaghe is not even considered in most top 100 ATG.
So what if floyd wants to talk about being undefeated. I mean is he lying or something? Is he not 40-0? What fighter what team goes undefeated and doesn't brag about it? In the NFL why do they always call the last unbeaten team the best? Why is it such a big deal then? You guys just like to pick at floyd for everything he does or says. When the Patriots we're going for the undefeated season most people we're rooting them on except for "haters" and the same with Floyd. As a boxing fan why wouldn't you want an undefeated fighter? It's good for the sport. I just don't understand you guys man.

Floyd has said he is the GOAT because he is undefeated and always bashes his peers because they have x amount of losses and now he says he doesn't think about his 0. Lmao even floyd fans know he is full of ****!!! Hell he has bashed the crap out of mosley's 5 losses...

If wins against an "old Oscar and Corrales ain't enough to get you the THE list", then I am sure you would agree that someone with wins against an even older Oscar, an old Marco Antonio Barrera, an old Eric Morales and a shot Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton definitely doesn't belong on the list.
